Formerly a Combat Football team, the Chargers ran out of money and fans when deathracing caught on. As bloody as football had become, it could not compete against rockets and machine guns! Their latest bout had left the team battered, bruised and out of money after having a horrible 3-13 season. Returning from that final away game, the team bus was attacked. With the driver killed and the bus surrounded by several armed cars, The quarterback grabbed the wheel and the team took up defensive positions. They held off the attackers with small arms fire and managed to reach the gates of Somerset. The joy of victory reinvigorated them, and the Chargers Deathracing Team was born!
