Northern Desert Racing Circuit was one of the earliest racetracks to open in Somerset, and remains one of the fastest and most exciting, with its flat concrete surface and wide corners.
(1) Main Straight
This part is mainly about who's got the best engine, although speed out of the previous, long corner has a strong effect too. Pretty soon you see the barriers approaching of the next corner, and you stop feeling quite so cozy.
(2) Dead Man's Corner
The scene of many fatalities, despite been remodelled in 2038, this corner is hard to get right and easy to get very very wrong. If you don't slide out into the wide barriers, you may well get involved in a pile-up as everyone tries to compress into the narrow section of road at 100mph. Approach the corner as wide as possible, and start turning into it as early and gently as you can manage, before tightening the turn slightly at the apex and then swinging hard right to negotiate the final section. Taking it well or taking it poorly can mean the difference of 30mph or more to your exit speed.
(3) Back Straight
A lot of passing maneuvers happen here, as exit speeds from the previous corner can vary greatly. It's also a very dangerous straight in deathraces, since the traffic tends to be bunched together and the Weapons Allowed buzzer has probably just sounded. Watch out for the sandy humps on the right, and start planning the next left turn early.
(4) Desert Corner
It may look like two corners, but more correctly this is one corner with a double apex. Take it right by turning as gently and early as possible into it, and keep your exit speed close to 100mph. Take it wrong and tear your tyres, exiting at 65mph or sliding into the barrier.

The first apex also has a nasty sandy hump which is best avoided if you would prefer not to resemble an aircraft accident as you land on the outer barrier. The mean-looking rocky pit on the right as you enter the corner is not really a problem unless you are in a deathrace and have a badly shaken or unconscious driver at the end of the back straight.

(5) Short Straight and Corner
Coming out of the previous corner, the traffic is likely to be spread right across the road, and this is made more challenging by the fact that this fast right-hand bend has no well defined racing line. You can probably take the apex from the inside or the outside, avoiding the concrete barrier with care. Be wary of the amount of slide you will have as you exit at 110mph+, since there are some dangerous bumps on the left side of the next straight. Don't get complacent and let yourself drift into them.
(6) Final Turn
This is a fast, wide corner that you can slide around at close to 100mph. Be wary of the bumps on the inside. Take the line right and you can slide right past your opponent or exit close to the finish line faster than them, allowing you to take them on the long straight that follows.
