Image Taken By Mad Mike The Hellfire sports a nifty Anti-Tank gun and Car Rifle to its front, Machine Guns to its left and right, a formidable opponent by any ones standards, to come across one can be rare in the northern towns, but Thirty Two was sheer madness. Image Taken By Mad Mike Only the kind of madness, mike could bring forth. The assembled pirate vehicles brought forth an image straight from Hell, enough caskets for mikes entire gang. Image Taken By Mad Mike To explain the ensuing combat would only dilute this story, best to view the recording taken from the Gun Cams on the gangs Buzzers, Just ask Dexter for the Recording and enjoy the madness that is the Crushers. Event ID S197501 Report by *Grograt* Pictures By Mad Mike Donald is a guy that loves to drive, he started his life in the gang in Firelight as a scout, he spent a long time on the road to Badlands and back, every day for a few months, he quickly became our best scout showing amazing potential every week without fail, he was practically clued inside his trusty One Way, a 3.2L V8 Bullet with only a spike dropper and a reload, with reduced A armour because of the long distance, back in the days that`s all that would fit in the car, the rest of the space taken by the huge fuel tank. After realising his potential he was sent down to the Badlands and worked on his gunnery. Being death-racer certified we tried him out on solo scout in a more battle-worthy chassis, the Renowned Pulp, an A armoured apachee with a rear laser and HCR, the vehicle still drivable albeit not mint any more. The next step for him was and is the Renowned Ugly, an A armoured Buzzer with a rear heavy laser/HCR combo solo scouting in Badlands. It was so successful that when the gang got into the trading business we sent him out as an escort, he didn`t argue and he as been the only escort we have ever needed and had. Now Donald just escorts our lorries were they need to go and can usually negotiate passage most of the times, he`s happy doing what he loves, drive. Submission by v.i.n.d.i.c.a.to.r.s. The subconscious mind is a funny thing. It has a vast array of tricks up its sleeve, ready to play the lot of them at any time, typically at the worst of moments. Doreen Thurston was sure hers was run amok right now. Surely it was a dream, a very bad one, where she woke up flat on her back, staring up at a dingy ceiling, and straight into the face of the one person in whole wide world she would gladly strangle with her bare hands. The man leering at her was the very scumbag who had killed her Pop, the same man she had vowed to kill. Painfully. He had greasy jet black hair which was creepily offset by the coldest ice blue eyes Dory had ever seen. There was no life in the eyes, only hate, and she supposed pain. But she cared not for his pain, it was hers the man owed her for. His name was Slash, or his nickname anyway, no one knew his real name. He was exceedingly pale, and thin, with a whipcord strength and a scraggly goatee on his chin. His mouth was a thin line, more a razor slice across his face and much too wide. It gave him the look of a toothy shark when he smiled, or grinned more than smiled like he was doing now. His teeth were yellowed and snaggled. He looked older than she remembered, which she knew should not really happen in a subconscious dream. It was her first clue that this may actually be happening, the realization was not welcome, not at all. Dream dirt bag or not, she figured she would kill him with her bare hands right now. No need to wait, and if it was a dream then she might even make it happen. In the dream of course. And if this was real? Well, more the better. Dory was fast, something her father could not account for as neither he nor her mother were particularly fast. Dory was abnormally so. It was not the only oddity about her, but it was the most well known. Fast as a snake her right hand would come up aimed at the dream Slash`s throat. From her disadvantageous position flat on her back she went with one hand first, intending to clamp it around his throat under the chin, then pull him down to her other hand as she dug her fingers into the soft flesh of his neck, or herself up to him in order to get the other hand around his neck. It was a fairly desperate move, and she briefly thought of biting him as well she hated him so. There was only one person she had met nearly as fast as she was, and that was her target himself. The illusion of this being a dream, and her hopes of killing her newly found tormentor were shattered by the searing pain she felt in her side as her arm came up, which was not moving anywhere near as fast as she thought it should. In fact the move was entirely feeble and had no more chance of catching her targets neck than she had of flying out the door and all the way to the moon. Additionally, she now knew she was strapped down and apparently in a bed, although her arms were somewhat free. The clanking of chains, and the feeling of the manacles let her know she was also chained. Nonetheless Slash`s eyes widened slightly and he jerked back a step, rather unnecessarily, but he clearly respected her abilities enough to not tempt fate. The pain in her side was excruciating, Dory quickly put her arm back down, hugging it to her side, the clink of the chains settling as she took deep breaths trying not to pass out. This was definitely no dream, the pain was absolutely real. The initial shock wearing off Slash laughed out loud while making `Tisk` sounds at her and then grinning his sharky smile. His voice was too high pitched for a man, and reedy. The Zerk probably didn`t help that much either. The weasel was a committed user. `Now, now Miss dory, that won`t do, not at all. Don`t you have any manners? Especially considering we are your saviors from the wastes. Such a lack of appreciation I`ve never seen`! He took a slight step forward, looking down at his captive and wagging his finger at her, his chuckles trailing off and the icy coldness of his eyes returning to what was just seconds ago a fairly cheery demeanor. The mans mood changed like the shifting sands of the wastes. There was no rhyme or reason to it most times, and his gang paid a high price for misreading his extreme moods. Something also not made any better by the Zerk. The man was simply a nut case, and an evil one at that. A sociopathic monster actually. Dory looked away from him, and at the ceiling. Peeling paint of a nondescript brown color and a single feeble light bulb from a dangling fixture which had fallen out of it`s bracket was all that she could see in that direction, and grimy dirt of course. The whole place was grimy from what she could see, to include the smelly bed she was strapped to. She figured she probably smelled bad, as it appeared she was in the same clothes she had left Somerset in, except where hasty bandages had been applied to various wounds. But the bed positively reeked. She hoped the general state of her cleanliness and the added filth of her surroundings didn`t effect her wounds. The horrible smell didn`t really seem like it came from her injuries, wound rot she had seen, and smelled, before, but she couldn`t be sure anyway being unable to sit up and see. Her side was the worst of it from what she could tell. The muscle in her lower back, and maybe her abdomen seemed to be the source of most of the agony. It was tough to tell from her general misery exactly where it was coming from but that area was on fire, nearly bad enough to make her pass out. Her right ankle throbbed, or maybe it was her whole foot. Lifting her head slightly she saw her two feet down at the bottom of the bed sticking out of the dingy gray blanket which covered her. It was a relief to see both of them. Sure enough the right one had a bandage on it, and depressingly there seemed to be a few toes missing. She tried to wiggle the digits on that foot but was met with another wave of pain, and the realization that nothing wiggled. She abandoned the tally taking of her status, it appeared she was wrecked for the moment and not going anywhere. She remembered what her dad had told her about being backed into a corner. He`d told her `Don`t lose your head Dory, if nothing else you have your mind, use it, keep alert and think your way out of it`. The old man was full of seemingly stupid advice as far as a teenager was concerned. But she knew it was sage advice here and now, so she calmed her mind from the swirling doubt and desperation, and took stock of her surroundings. As she gained control of her thoughts, Slash was going on with pleasantries he did not mean in the slightest. `We are so very happy to have you back with us in Sarsfield my dear! You left in such a hurry and we didn`t have a chance to say an appropriate goodbye. That was exceedingly rude of you considering all the effort we made to make sure your departure was memorable`. Slash flashed his sharky smile once again, the ice blue of his eyes nearly flashing with malice. The smile was not friendly in the least, not this time, Dory recognized it for one of his mood changes. The look in his eyes was the unpredictable mood, the incredibly violent one. She figured she might die right now, helpless on this bed, as the man took his hatred for her father out on her and finished the job he had started those few years ago. He certainly looked like he wanted to do it. She closed her eyes, unable to watch, and waited, she might see her dad soon, she`d go calmly and not give the devil standing over her any satisfaction. But the blow she expected did not come and she heard him turn and take a few steps in his shuffling gait. Opening her eyes and turning her head she noticed for the first time they were not alone in the room. There were goons standing by the door. Actually, one was most certainly a goon, the other was more, well, polished she thought. Dory also processed what Slash had said, she was in Sarsfield, her families home town, where her pop was buried. Where the `Family`s` enemies were. She was in the lions den, and felt like a piece of raw meat. Literally and figuratively. Dory took stock of the two men she had just noticed as they spoke in low voices to Slash. They did not seem to defer to him like his subordinate gang members did. If anything, Mr. Polish had an air of superiority, and it seemed Slash was agitated by that. It occurred to her that whoever these guys were they might be responsible for her living through psycho`s mood swing earlier. They were both large men, although the goon was positively hulking. She suspected he was a mutie of some kind, for he was just too out sized, all bulging muscles and exceedingly hairy. He looked competent enough, but when he laughed at something the other said to Slash, to which she noticed Slash stiffen, the laugh was a vacant one. His slack jaw and slouch, as well as his slowly blinking eyes seemed to indicate a reduced intelligence. She could not be sure, but it was a potential weakness for the hulk. Although his motions were fluid enough and she figured he was quite adept at smashing and killing. The other one, the leader it seemed, was another matter. While Slash was dangerous in the extreme, this man made him look like a lap dog. The man never once looked at her, but she knew he was very much aware of her and what she was doing. It was very obvious he was as competent, alert and dangerous as his buddy was large. That was not good, she was used to manipulating people, she had a gift for it. Some claimed it was some kind of mutant mind power, she didn`t think so. She just had insights into people, but this man would not be easily duped. His friend might be however, provided the leader was not around. Additionally, she had no idea whatsoever who these guys were, or why they would be interested in her. But she knew right away it had something to do with her family. If they were part of the conspiracy against her dad, she would add them to the list of those who would die painfully if she got the chance. The pain washed over her once again, and a tiredness she could not fight. Dory closed her eyes, praying for the release of sleep, considering her situation, the people she had seen here, and what her bleak future might be. As she faded off to fitful and pain filled slumber, she wondered what her idiot brother was doing right now. She hoped he was not attempting to mount a rescue mission. They had discussed this very scenario where one of the them went missing or captured. The deal had been that the remaining sibling would continue on, build the Family and not risk it all to save the other. She hoped her intransigent brother ignored that pact. Here we have the Apachee in a standard twin HMG set up, with room for four crew and four reloads, add a side weapon and still roll out with three crew. From out of the stable of the Hell Riders comes this fast interceptor, fully armed and ready for action Thanks to Alocalypse for providing the car builder utility Image Taken By Bastiel Amy Banuelos tightened the straps on her helmet. She checked them, then checked them again. Ever since Old One-Eye hit that wall at 90 in a Vampire, she always triple-checked the helmet. The medics said death was instantaneous. Because his straps were loose. `Amy, you don`t have to do this you know.` `Earl` Hickey leaned in the window. `The lads all trust you.` `That`s not true and you know it, Earl,` Amy shot back. `They chose that hillbilly as their leader. He`s all testosterone and stupidity, Earl. He`ll get us all killed.` `If winning a few races is what it takes to convince these bozos that courage is not all you need to be a good leader, then goddamn it, I`ve got to win a few races.` Image Taken By Bastiel Earl heard the resolution in Amy`s voice. `Well, you`re locked and loaded, and I`ve tweaked this baby as much as I can. Give `em hell, Banestorm.` His words were drowned out as the engines of fifteen cars surged with power. `This is insane.` The words were spoken out loud, even if there was no one to hear them. The klaxon blared, declaring Weapons Free. Amy tightened her grip on the steering wheel as she accelerated, jockeying for position with the other Sunrises. The crackle of super-heated air startled her, and she jerked the wheel to the right. The foetid atmosphere in the car worsened, filled with the stench of burnt ozone and the acrid fumes of scorched paint. Image Taken By Bastiel `,` muttered Amy. `Thought he was further ahead. Well, it`s not just lasers on these babies.` She punched buttons on the dash and targeted. Her peripheral vision kept Dirge`s Sunrise, painted in its distinctive livery, lined up with the launching tube on her left side. Phssssssh-Bang. The rocket streaked out and slammed into Dirge`s right hand side. Cracks and splits appeared in the armour. `Alright, time to win this race. And show that bloody idiot hillbilly that being in the front may be brave, but it`s stupid, and it`s not how you win.` `One lap down, five entrants out, Time to make my play.` Amy passed the lap marker and considered her position. Her armour was gone on the left, but otherwise strong. The pack was reduced, more than half the competitors had resigned. At least two of them were dead. She was at the back of the pack, five Sunrises all vying for the deathrace cash. But for Amy, the cash didn`t matter. She needed the kudos, to prove to the Vanguards that skill and tactics are what make a survivor, not sheer dumb bravery. The Somerset Rally Circuit was perfect for her tactics. With its figure eight loop and tight corners, she would have good sightlines to hit the paper-thin armour on the Sunrises, and ample opportunity for her laser to recharge between shots. She put her foot down hard as she approached the intersection. It would be dangerous as hell here, as the pack spun round the hairpin and headed back towards her. Sarsfield Grenadiers was in the lead. An arrogant youth, gangly and pimpled. She picked her spot carefully, waited three seconds. Pzow. The laser lanced out. Steam erupted from the engine as the coolant lines melted. Amy passed behind the slowing car on the crossroads. One down, three to go. Image Taken By Bastiel `Christ.` A shot from the left, searing pain in her calf as the beam sliced flesh and burnt skin. She reflexively jerked the wheel right, moving out of line as another beam missed behind her. Then she was past the crossing, and turning the wheel to slide into the corner. As she straightened, she saw the good news. The wrecked Sarsfield Grenadiers was coasting to a stop, and one of the other contenders had driven smack into its rear. The driver was slumped over the steering wheel, not moving. She hoped he was just concussed, not dead, but either way, only two more cars stood between her and victory. She tightened her grip on the wheel, her fingers leaving indentations in the black leather covering. The chicane ahead was a strong opportunity, as the leaders would be forced to expose their weaker sides to her. The three of them were bunched together as they entered the chicane ? Battlefield Crew in the lead, the driver a red-headed novice; the Fighting Celts second, an grizzled veteran at the wheel; then Amy. And this chicane was going to win her the race. Beam after beam of laser fire lanced out. The Fighting Celts were taking chunks out of Battlefield Crew, and Amy held fire as the Celts softened up the armour of the leader for her. Then, as she swept through the turn, she pressed down on the firing stud. The pent up energy of the laser burst forth, showering sparks in the driver`s compartment of the Celt`s Sunrise. The second beam hit the driver, and Amy saw a fountain of blood spray from his wounded forearm. The third beam severed the steering linkages, and Celts was out of the race. Amy blasted past, barely able to acknowledge the salute of the defeated driver of the Celts. She had lost time, and Battlefield Crew was out of sight at the hairpin. She threw the Sunrise into a powerslide, risking a wipeout as she battled to maximise the speed through the turn. Through the corner of her eye, she saw the rockface hurtle past. She blanched as she remembered her left side was unprotected, the memory of One-Eye slamming his damaged Asp into the concrete wall coming unbidden to her mind. `I WILL NOT DIE TODAY.` Not today, not any time soon. She accelerated through the corner, her left side scant inches from the protruding rock. Sweat gathered inside her helmet, blurring her vision as it dripped into her eyes. She shook her head to clear it and homed in our target. Image Taken By Bastiel 50 metres. 45. Amy conserved the power in her laser. This driver was a rookie, a novice. She didn`t need to kill him. Just make him break his line on the final corner, steer left and wide, and she?d be past him to the winner`s circle. 40 metres, 35. Time. The crimson beam sizzled through the air, diffracting on the armoured glass by the driver`s head. Amy saw the glass deform and crack, saw the driver flinch as megajoules of power fractured the flimsy protection on his left. She pressed the stud again. `Flinch, damn you. Flinch.` The second shot landed exactly on the first, and the glass shattered, shard of crystal spraying out, coruscating with the crimson energy from the laser. The driver cried out and jerked the wheel left, losing his racing line and veering into the grassy outfield. `Yes,` exulted Amy. She hugged the wall close, cut inside Battlefield Crew and crossed the line. *** `You did it!? Earl was the first to reach the car, to congratulate Amy on her win. `And everyone was watching.` Amy looked behind Earl to see the every member of the Vanguards crowding onto the track. Even Darrell was there, all 6`6` of him, and Amy was surprised to see that he was sporting a grin. He pushed through the throng as she climbed out of the shattered door of the Sunrise. `Banestorm, maybe you got it right. You need brains, and you need balls to survive out there, to lead a gang. I knew you had the brains, and you just proved, you`ve sure as hell got the balls.` He reached out a massive hand. `I`d be honoured to follow you, Amy Banuelos.` Amy took his hand, and shook. Darrell`s smile broadened, and he enveloped Amy in a bearhug. `The Vanguards gonna be unbeatable now,` he said.
