If you do not have the money or the resources to take the expedition to Texan or any other town, what are you doing down south to begin with? All southern towns were created for vets, not newer players or small operators with minimal resources.

It might take me a few tries whereas a more experienced and/or better equipped vet might get there on the first run...but I will get there.

I was not aware Darkwind was turning into socialist economy so the little guy gets his fair share of goods because he/she does not have the same resources as other players in the game.

I'm not saying everybody should get handed two rares as they come in the gate.  The first players to get there should reap the rewards of their daring-do.  But, it would certainly make playing more enjoyable for us slowpokes to at least have a chance of getting some good stuff when we finally get there.

My thought was more along the line of a tapered release.  Maybe 25% released initially.  Another 25% a week later.  Another 25% a week after that.  15% a week after that.  And the final 10% dribbled in over a couple of more weeks.

The first gangs to arrive still have the advantage in snapping up rares/uncommons while still throwing a bone with a little meat left on it to the late arrivals at the feeding frenzy.

If the goods are spread around a little more, there is less incentive for one player to buy everything and then resell at huge profits.  A little market competition sets in.

PS: You won’t be buzzing around with Heavy Lasers, they don’t spawn in shops.

A bit of hyperbole on my part.  I don't expect to be buzzing around with Heavy Lasers.  I don't worry about rares.  Personally, I will probably stick to my dual HMG (or HMG/CR) landys just because they are relatively cheap and easy to replace.

First I saw the walls made of crushed cars for Texan and I was like OMG I gotta say something!

Then I saw the new arena and I was like Giggity!

Then I saw shanty town and I was all like GIGGITY-GIGGITY!

The Texan rares debate should maybe be considered by the RC, as there are valid arguments both ways. I like idea of a Mad Rush myself, but it does have a side-effect of the first arrivers hogging up everything and reselling.

Possible solution/idea. The first X number of people receive Y number of texan hero points to buy rares. Y goes down. For example, first person 10, then 8, 6, 5, 4, etc. So first person to arrive is rewarded with lots-o-cool stuff, but he can't buy all of it. And so on down the line. Just an idea to spread it out a little more.

Also, buzzing around? I have never seen that term before but it can only mean one thing and that would be scouting around in your buzzer. Is it on the list of in-game lingo? Should be if not. I can't seem to find that thread to save my life right now to see...

nice idea though i have a hard time with the first person getting 10 hero points, maybe if there's 50 rare things in the market..

how about the 1st gets 2 hps, and the next 5 people get 1 hp each?

hoping that the first doesn't scoop up the only 2 fire trucks there he he

that is just roleplay madness... its not a new town opening or a gold strike... Texam has been there all along (just not yet developed in the game) so the shop is not going to be full of lots of goodies or the local gangs would have bought them.

we should really be assuming that we are all a bit unsophisticated and provincial for not having been there already!

No doubt, they should only sell goodies to the first gangs to arrive with food and medicines!

most medicines are made of oil so they will have plenty

(please note.. this is not per se a fact... it is a fact that i made up which might be true)

even i will not try to pretend you can eat oil for the sake of the little children who might try (except edible oils which you can... like corn oil, olive oil, peanut oil, sunflower oil, rape seed oil etc etc etc) so bring food and you will be REWARDED!

Yeah, the prize should go to the first person to break another gang members neck and paralyze them for 9 months during a race.

Surely the best Darwind medicine is "Snake Oil".

Then again Castrol GTX does clear your tubes out if you accidentally consume it (wheras 2 stroke oil is positively benign).

Typical just as my sub expires a whole new town is suddenly available and two new venues ;(

Roll on fiscal stability and free time again.

Somewhere between GW and BL I think.

Probably at the same time as Texan. See the Evan map: Shantyville is on the BL to Texan road.

Will Shantyville be a fuel stop? Could you maybe drive BL-Shanty then Shanty to Texan? Or drive straight through if you like?
