Mac Crashes

St Germain The Madd Hatters Racer Civs Faction Group: Members Posts: 240 Joined: Aug 6, 2008 Has anyone had an issue logging into the client from a mac? I was able to log in last night, but then today however I go in (icon or lobby) it crashes before connecting - or as it is connecting - to the server... *Lugal* Luna Sea Darkwind Guru Renegade Group: Marshals Posts: 2,246 Joined: Jan 27, 2008 I had this problem too on Tuesday - reinstalled the client and it worked. However, PT is right; you don't need to reinstall.  It's simply the port changed, and when trying to access the wrong port the client crashes.  This happened to me again today, but luckily I read this post before reinstalling. My port was set at 28004, which crashed.  I reset the port to 28000 before logging in, and it cycled up to 28002, then worked fine. Sam, it seems that if the client is set to a lower number it works fine (just cycles up to the right one), but if it's higher, it crashes.  I tested out some 280xx numbers and that held true.  Hope that helps. ......................... vet marshal wv Posted Jun 21, 2009, 8:09 pm Last edited Jun 21, 2009, 8:11 pm by *Lugal*

For the last couple of days I launch the client and it just crashes. I have reinstalled software, no help. Even when I get in it tells me my scripts are out of date and closes the client. That is even after I updated everything. Is it my poor wifi connection or am I missing something. I check the port and have the right one. If my DSL suddenly drops, it will cause it. Here's what I do as a permanent workaround... Since you're running OS X you don't have to actually "install" the app. I have a folder called gaming in my home folder that I keep gaming "stuff" in. There's a folder called darkwindFullMac which is the app. It has the darkwindLobby.jar file in it as well as the darkwind folder, etc. You know the one I mean? Anyway - in my gaming folder I also have a folder called DW Backup In this folder I copy the darkwindFullMac folder every so often. When I have these issues I just replace the "real" darkwindFullMac folder with the backup (copy only - make sure to keep the backup pure). I find that if I move the camera within the first 10 seconds or so of the event loading it is likely to crash. I have no idea what would cause this, but I've learned to not do it. If the client crashes, I can't use the "DarkwindOSXClientPPC" to relaunch the client, as it crashes again once I enter my login. In these cases I have to open the login directly via the "darkwindLobby.jar", which then launches the client with me signed in. ......................... vet marshal wv Posted Dec 22, 2009, 9:07 pm
