Darkwind - Viewing Topic: The Audiovisual Youtube Overview

I happened to meander into the Youtube section today, Sam, and decided to sit through the trailer and the audiovisual overview.

While the overview was fantastic (you cannot but love that voice

), one thing did not stand out clearly enough: the concept of multiple characters. Touting perma-death is an excellent way to draw in folks like us, but others will probably get scared by the idea. If the overview stated more clearly that Darkwind relies upon multiple characters (meaning that perma-death is less limiting), you could probably catch both the hardcore folks, and the more timid regular MMOers.

(Though, yes, the mention of Darkwind Tactical also serves this purpose.)

The idea of a real-world time scale is also a very cool thing, but I imagine some might be repelled by the idea that their character could be occupied by travelling for hours at a time. Presenting the multiple characters mechanic would probably aid in preventing these folks from never trying the game.

Other than that, really good stuff. But I simply must ask: how the blazes did you afford hiring George Carlin for the voice-over?
