Hmm I was wondering if engine size affects fuel consumption? Do bigger engines consume more fuel in proportion, compared to small engines?

Yes, although we're going to be changing it to a vehicle's weight rather than its engine, soon.

So based on that new system you're talking about, engines, regardless of size, will consume the same proportion of fuel?

There's a thread elsewhere where I go on about this, but to keep things simple, yes, you've got it. A huge engine does much less work (while burning more fuel) than a tiny engine, and so the fuel use becomes the same, ignoring all other considerations. There's a link in the document in the above-mentioned thread that suggests a loose, linear correlation between fuel use and mass, and for the sake of a game, that should be adequate.

But! As fuel use in this game is based on the weight of the vehicle, and larger engines weigh more, a larger engine will, by default, use more fuel. A smaller engine allows your cargo hauler to not only carry more fuel (and cargo appears to be less dense than engines) but be more fuel efficient.
