I've ben away for quite some time, but now that I'm back (again, and hopefully to stay), I felt I had to comment on one of the many new, excellent additions to the game.

1. The new register functionality for in-town events is wonderful. A small suggestion to make it even more useful, though, would be a pop-up window with the complete character sheet for the chosen characters. That way, we would never have to go into our browser, even if we are confused and not very familiar with our gang members.

2. Would it eventually be possible to implement a similar interface for scouting (accessed form the My Scouting Squad button, etc)? I know, I know, this brings us back to the age-old and eternal question of "web interface versus in-client functionality", and I know this forms the basis for much of Darkwind gameplay, and while the web interface is a very useful nicety (and one I would ill want to loose), it would simply be so much more convenient to be able to do all of this directly from the client.

I'm not asking for full client gang management functionality. I don't mind training characters form the web interface, nor planning trips, managing camps, and so forth. But in-town events and scouting trips are what we do all day long in game, and I've already noticed what a convenient addition the register function for in-town events is. To have the same functionality for scouting events, would make Darkwind much more user-friendly and accessible.

Similar as in what? Adding vehicles and char's? There's already a "scouting squad" button in the client, but I don't think anyone uses it...

Care to guess why it is not being used? ;)

But yes, as in being able to add cars and characters to a squad, and send that squad out into the wilderness. It might not seem like important functionality to those used to the web interface, but in terms of click economy, convenience, and accessibility, it would make a drastic difference.

The reason I used the word "eventually", is because I know there are more pressing content additions and updates. But once it is implemented, I am certain it will be a popular function with many players. (Seeing the reaction to the event register function among the few friends I have nearby that play Darkwind is a good indication of that.)

While you're at it can you make hospitalized gang members available in the client registration? Sometimes your best driver is still your best driver even when she's got a broken leg.

With the risk of devolving this thread into a nostalgic mess, it's truly good to be back B) And with my new VISA card arriving this very day (after the last one broke in a food-related incident. Don't ask), I think it's time to click my way into that subscription page...

But squad management in client (regardless of how long it will have to take), great news! It might sound silly, but I did two deathraces today, just because I grew so fond of the new register interface ;)

I won't ask, but I will point out that it sounds a bit less heroic than what happened to your hand last year..

Its a great idea but too clumpsy to use... from an ergonomical point of view
