Okay lately I've been swamped at work, so apart from some forum time and a few late night events my DW activity has been non-existant.  I've yet to dig into Tactical to really check it out, but that doesn't mean I don't already have some ideas in mind.

1) Need for Speed.  In the "How Fast is Too Fast" thread we decided that the only way you can really see a high-end car's high end, is on one of the straight roads between Somerset and Gateway, and have a fast AI keep up with you. 

No longer.  Build the fastest cars available, as many as you have players, set up on the road already at speed.  See how fast you can get.  If you think that sounds boring you've never tried to hold onto a car at 200+mph.  Pick the "Once Upon a Town" map for fatal crashes.

EDIT:  Hot Pursuit variant.  Cops versus Robbers, anyone?

2) The Lorries of the Line.  Multiple lorries with CGL front and back, twin CGLs left and right.  A simple three on three match or as many as you can sqeeze in.  Hope you've been studying your naval tactics!

3) The Roadwarrior.  It was on everyone's mind when Sam first mentioned Tactical.  A single lorry versus numerous buggys, musclecars, and pickups.

The trick is armament.  Since the movie scene used primarily handweapons, maybe have a couple vehicular shotguns? The lorry should have a reinram, no question there.  Too many guns and it's just a shooting fest (bandits win) too few and it's just a demo derby (lorry wins).  Maybe no guns, it starts at speed, and the winning conditions are a) lorry escapes, or b) lorry is reduced to zero mph?

4) ...I have more ideas, but I want to set them up myself. ;)

I too have been EXTREMELY busy with a couple of projects at work, then "family time" last week as all four of us were on Spring Break together, so DW:T has not been something I've tried either, but I'm anxious to get my feet wet with it and get my CW buddies online to play it as well...

BTW - during Spring Break my wife and I managed to find our 1000th geocache! Big milestone for us!  http://www.geocaching.com    She's not a DW gamer, so that and dancing are the things we do "together."

Speaking of dancing - I've been sitting in with the band at the local dance hall the past few weeks toward the end of the night, and Saturday night I sat it all three hours at their new venue. :D

Back on topic - I like your ideas Lugal! I've heard people saying the Gates of Sarsfield map would make a good rally circuit too, so I'm anxious to try that one too...

I think wilderness death racing would be fun too...

ah, and here i thought the gates of SF was my little secret!

things i am planning:

1) Gates of SF Rally. i'm hoping to make this a DR, but i'll need to wait until we can free-for-all and possibly for placed objects to mark edges of circuit. i have several scenarios in mind for this, actually. the gates of SF map has so many nifty things on it that it begs to be explored in the most nail-biting manner!

2) Bus Race. or DR. or maybe busses vs lorries, who knows?

3) Assault on the Mortar Lorry. bug bad mortar lorry battleship and "player" cars on one side, "pirates" on the other. we do this all the time but the pirates are always NPCs. now it's time to see what happens with human pirate opponents!

4) Ped Frenzy. hot ped vs car action!

5) Bowling for Peds. car vs peds.  (a variation on someone else's idea) peds start in the bowling pin position but needless to say scatter like ####roaches once the car starts rolling! how long will it take you to run over all 10?

6) Ped Scramble. two teams of peds, one car. who can get there first and comandeer it?

7) "Tag" Race. point to point race with 2 or more points. each point is a derelict vehicle. you must "tag" the derelict with physical contact to be able to continue to the next point. you'll note that a) if there are only 2 points this game will be very "confrontational" and b) if a tag derelict is near, say, a cliff, it might be in your best interest to try to ram it off the side so others will have to tag it from its new position!

i'll make these things pretty much in the order the code will allow for. also alot of these scnarios have "rules" that will rely on social contract (e.g. resigning manually if you break them).
