Darkwind - Viewing Topic: help

when i enter the client the window itself is smaller then the image inside (the game interface) and it seems impossible to change the size of the window... what should i do?

hi papovich, what are your system specs? (OS, gfx card etc) when in game you can alter the screen size in the prefs menu but I guess you mean before that

It sounds like it's running at 640x480 for you, and the default is 1024x768. As far as I know, it only drops when your graphics card isn't capable of higher- my laptop for example drops to 800x600 which is the minimum size that the GUI interfaces were made for.

Rather than getting in-game and changing the prefs (as mentioned by jim), you can also edit the darkwind/client/prefs.cs file. Near the bottom of this file you'll find:

$pref::Video::resolution = "1024 768 16";

It might be worth trying to change thisn to "800 600 16"

heh ty but i managed to find it out myself after some 30 min of wondering hehe i thought im missing the play buttons in the game but i was wrong the games system is very weird... sign up for race wait few days? then have 1 race and again wait few days? o_0

Yes, you can only play in a small number of competitive races each week, that's the design of the game. However it's now possible to run practice races whenever you want: use the 'Quick Events' button in the game client.
