The two lorries were too close together to start - due to larger size I'm sure, and heavily bounced off each other at the start like they were opposing magnets.

that also reminds me, are there plans to start the wilderness battles at a higher mph like you had at first? Seems more realistic and would (re)add some more combat challenges.
