Stephen Hopson woke with the mother of all headaches as the morning sunlight cut through his threadbare curtains like razer-blades. He'd over indulged in the post-scouting shots down in Dexters, having been out there under a bloody red sky fighting the Northern Mutant Alliance with some of the biggest names in Evan, and brought back trophies from a successful hunt.

One thing was bugging him though... In the heat of the battle one of the mutants had made a run for it, and a grand had been promised to the first to gun him down. Stephen had wasted no time in swinging round the heavy machine gun and turning that pedestrian into burger meat.

"I really ought to pick up that cash", he thought, "it may not be good for much more then reloads, but in this town I'm learning to make every dollar count".

The problem was he coudn't remember who'd made that promise. He made a mental note to try and work it out later, shut his eye's against the pain and rolled over, thinking a few hours more sleep would make it all better.
