Haven't been here for some time, but now that I am back, I found the new "Towns" menu to be very useful. While I'll probably sit and stare at the map now and then, just fo the nostalgia, it reduces the time needed to reach all the useful services.

So, I was thinking that a similar sub-menu along the lines of the towns that appear would be a good idea for the My Gang menu choice, allowing us to jump directly to "info", "vehicles", "characters", etc. It would probably be a good idea for ALL menu choices that feature sub-pages.

By no means a high priority addition, but perhaps something for one of those days when we are all already fighting hand-to-hand and bike-to-bike in our camps, and there is little else to add to Darkwind's journey towards perfection...

Shameless self-bump. I just wanted to make sure that you picked up on the suggestion, Sam, regardless of whether it is a good idea or not ;)

Ur yeah.. I saw it, thanks. I need to do a general overhaul of the website really. I was thinking floating windows would be much better ways of displaying vehicle info, along with their options such as changing armour, rather than the current embedded-frames approach. That would get rid of the space problems.

Oh ugh. (Not to the idea of floating windows, just that that sounds like a lot of work to get running properly on a bunch of different browsers.)

I've been thinking of coming up with a little app for displaying darkwind stuff on the Mac... something that uses webkit to give you a list of vehicles in one window, a list of characters in another, and that pops up windows for vehicles and suchlike. I wonder if there are enough Mac users out there who would find this useful.

If so, I'd vote for having the current embedded frame setup available SOMEWHERE in the web interface (though of course that wouldn't stop you from having floating windows) because otherwise I think I'd end up having to try to parse data out of floating windows instead of just displaying a frame as-is.

And I don't want to ask you to do anything special for this app, because who knows how long it'll take me to finish it with my current workload.

Sorry 'bout the double post. But yes, perhaps the website could be more efectively arranged. But I must say that I am rather fond of the current layout/scheme. The only two features I miss right now is direct links to my gang subpages (hence my suggestion above), and the possibility to open every link in a new tab (some pages still cease to function when I send them to a new tab).

Floating windows are a great idea in many respects, but at the same time, having all information displayed inline does offer some advantages. But perhaps I am biased, since I'm using an large Apple Cinema Display.

@Kime: I would. Find it useful, that is ;)
