We just zoom into the 1-2 pixels that look slightly odd due to compression and complain about how it's all ruined and horrible! :p

Hey! I set compression factor on a good ratio!

But I don't get offended, I'm not an artist...

neither I am a coder...  :p

Woop, not good enough for me, I usually have to compress your files a bit further. As I said, I'm anal...

It's no problem though, it's good practice to eyeball each media asset before adding it anyway.

Good! So when they pixelate out we can blame a programmer!

Okay, two more Bullet skins. I was having trouble matching the yellow-green tone that I used before, so I said, "Screw it."

In addition to palette-swapping the main paint and giving it new numbers, I also opted to change the sponsor logo on the front. One says Waterstone Tyres (a play on Firestone Tires), and the other says Texan Motors.

On that note - what color(s) would Jake's use? =^_^=

I hate to be a punk but can you put a stroke around the hood logos? They need to stand out more on that dark background- sweetness otherwise.

I'll see what I can do, but the strokes really don't come out well on such small font sizes. The numbers, thankfully, are larger fonts (and blockier fonts, which makes it easier).

It doesn't even need to be an individual stroke around each letter, just a light background that 'hugs' the entire text area. That'd be okay at that size. Doing text in Illustrator or Photoshop?

Paint Shop Pro.

I redid the Waterstone logo (with a different font) and it looks OK, but the Texan one is giving me grief.

I think they're better myself, helps them separate a bit.

Ah yes, Paint Shop Pro- thats where I started actually, and there's still a lot of stuff it does better than Photoshop. Cool!

D'oh! He added the green-yellow one anyway. I'll need to change the number on the Waterstone - they're both #23.

One more, then I'm done with the "Sponsored" cars for a while.
The sponsor on this one is Phantom Couriers.

Yeah, I learned to bite my tongue about compression. I sent my stuff originally as 1024x1024 unzipped bitmaps.

I'm all like, "What do you mean, I can't use Targa format?" He was all cackling like a demon, probably rubbing his hands together with glee, and going, "64x64, full compression jpeg!"

We eventually settled on a middle ground, but I tellya, it took a lot of work.

Note: Some or all of this story may be entirely fictional,

I decided to be ambitious, and started working on a Flame Turin paintjob. It's taking a while, and I probably won't be done with it tonight. I'm having some... technical difficulties that are due mostly to my inexperience with the paint program.

Edit: Definitely not finishing it tonight, but definitely making progress.

Biggest obstacle at the moment: Why is the exact same color on the "Roof" and the "Nose" resulting in different colors in the Viewer?

http://i28.tinypic.com/23rlh0h.jpg

Biggest concern: Sam, the Damage Model for the Turin is very strong, and VERY red... In order to get the picture above, where the car's supposed to be a deep blue, I have to set the Damage Model to 0. With the default 30% damage model, it is a wildly different color.
