I have just spent the last hour or so tidying up my big sprawling 'notes and ideas' document (currently 56 pages long). I'm not promising to follow exactly what the results of this poll are, but I'm interested in hearing opinions on what should be prioritised next. There's a mix of big items and smaller items in here....

There's also other stuff I want to do later which has not yet made it onto this list (e.g. cycles, trailers).

One item I have definitely decided to work on ASAP is that of 'alternative wilderness combats', which are scheduled in the events diary to maximise participation:
(1) Where everyone controls NPCs: "just for fun"
(2) Where Somerset is attacked and you can sign up to help the defenders or the attackers; each player car added removes say two NPC cars; there would need to be big $ prizes and lots of fame or skill bonuses for winners.
(3) You would be hired to defend NPC traders (or pirates) and then be automatically involved in a combat (with your own cars and vehicles) on their side, the next time they had a fight and you were in the lobby. A good pvp mechanism.

I was near to click on the "paintball" option (which should be a lot of fun) while i was finishing to read the description of the "alternative wilderness combats".
I can't really loose the chance to push the "just for fun" option (thoug the others seems very good also).

Sam, with this post you've raised my expectations a lot :)

Holy crap Giant Insects brilliant! This NEEDS to be in the game ASAP.

Think about it giant insects.

Please sir, I implore you this idea is brilliant.

But seriously some sort of giant insect "large group raid" would be awesome something that would require like 5-10 good people to have a chance against like a giant colony of ants or something.

LOL Shark....
There are a bunch of posts about the insects...

Just have to find them.......

One that comes to mind is "Bad news on the Rise" in the BL roleplaying forum.

I gotta admit it was a tough choice, kinda like which Christmas gift to open early.

I clicked Alternative Wilderness Encounters, but Camp changes, Paintball games, Insects, are all right up there with it. Basically, stuff that will flesh out the feel of the world of Evan (not PB games, but hey that's just too much fun) and add to the depth of the play.

I voted for Per-town and per-NPC-gang reputations and fames. I also beleive this should include some advantadges for the good guys. (which would equal about 3-4 people AFAIK)

Ahhhh, the voice of dissent....

If you've already decided to work on the Alternative Wilderness stuff then it should be replaced in the poll with something that is still optional.

I'd go with camp changes, but mostly because I think they are still not quite right.

I voted for the giant insects.

Alternate wilderness encounters would probably be my second choice, mainly because I'm not interested in the implied PvP aspects, myself.

Most of the other additions listed would actually remove/decrease incentive for players to join public squads. There's little enough as it is, IMO.

Bug hunts could be fun. Maybe once a game year go with a big raid near each town and success or failure can influence the chance for bug wilderness encounters for that town?

Maybe time them every two weeks, have one town do their raid so people can move from town to town and participate in the raids.

Could be a good addition. Maybe ped squads to go in some holes??? B)

I might be strange but for me it was between Ped combat arena and rep and fame per groups... I dont need camp, Bugs are fun but can wait for me even longer. Alternatives are nice but can wait imo too...
But I am eager to see everything from this poll implemented :D

The camp balancing stuff is important, but most camp changes hardly affect me at all, or the majority of players, which is why I'd put them lower on my list.

The additional wilderness stuff, ped arena events, psionics, and bug/radioactive monster stuff is more important I think.

I voted camp combats, but 'alternative' combats which is a nice way to avoid saying 'PvP' combats are high on my wishlist too.

And of course the camp manufacturing changes.

Tough one this i would actually like to see a new town in the south with training facilites...but hey that wasn't on the list :(

So i voted bugs, as i figure that would give variation on wilderness scouting anyway

That's just because this is not Sam's duty but mine.
Next town will be Morgan, but there is no training facility there anyway. Sorry.

Sam, youre a devil! So much choices, so much stuff worth to wait for. What should I choose? I nibbled my fingers, walked up and down in my flat for hours, meditated in a bhuddist temple for days, used dangerous designer drugs that where supposed to bring enlightment and walked through my hometown naked, burning olibanum in a teapot-warmer swung on a string.
So solution.
Today I woke up and got the idea: A timeshift two years into the future!
Two years and all of this great stuff would be implemented! Only two years!
But I guess its hard to code such a timeshift, eh? :(

It's more likely that biology (cryogenic stasis) or physics (relativistic time dilation) will offer you the solution that you're looking for than programming!
