This is the first pedestrians patch. There's still several bugs I'm looking at and a lot more functionality to add. Pedestrians are currently only available in town events.

Just few of things I noticed so far.
If you leave car with all people from inside it is resigned and if you tried to re-enter it will kick you out next turn and if possible your character will escape.
If character is lying on ground it is impossible to hit it with car weapons, the gunner is shooting just too high to hit somebody on ground.
My squad Rockclaw is still in limbo or some similar place... I wouldnt repeat it all the time if the better half of my gang wasnt trap in there.

Otherwise: Pedestrians are COOL!!!! I love them :)

That's ok, you're not allowed to 'un-resign'. I'll make it so a resigned car can't be re-entered at all.

Uhuh, makes sense, will look into it.

Sorry about that, server crashed while I was patching this morning. Should be ok now.

i think resigning should have this effect but for the truly macho i think that if you leave volountarily (at least in the wilderness) it should not automatically count as resigning, so except in an event exiting and resigning are two different things. we should also be able to commandeer other people's deserted vehicles or enter friendly vehicles if they have space, which gives people a potential motivation to risk exposing their peds.

I just hope it won't be the same in wilderness...
Otherwise makes sense, but it would be still fun to finish race just with pedestrian because your car is without engine :D

No, it's different in the wilderness. If a car is demoralised then an un-demoralised character entering it might un-demoralise it. Or it might just cause that character to get demoralised too ;-)

This makes sense.  Hope that will apply to destroyed engine cars as well.  It would be nice to be able to run a medic into a dem/destroyed engine car to work on the injured and unconcious.

This would increase the coolness (and possibly even the usefulness) of peds tenfold.

I haven't been able to try the new patch, Sam, what with my complete inability to control a computer mouse at the moment, but it is great to see one of the most longterm of all of Darkwind's longterm goals finally realized! What ever will you code next, now that the long list is nearing its end? ;)

(The micromanaging layer added by peds is also causing that old micromanaging bastard son in me to stir...)

Few comments so far:
1. Rifle seems to be doing the same damage as a weapon in the car rifle/mg range...
2. What happens with unconscious drivers in races? Do they just have to sit there and wait to die, or for the server to get bored and time out the event should no-one kill them?
3. The amazing sliding unconscious/dead ped effect is a little... odd :cyclops:

Otherwise looks really cool and fun

Yep as always great work sam. There was a couple of major problems but you somehow worked them all out and fixed them (i would have gone outside and grabbed a sledge hammer if i had to put up with what you did)

Most fun i had was hitting jansan ped at 50+ mph with front mounted spikes and watching her go flying into the air with blood pouring out by the gallon and then rolling all the way next to one of jansans cars.

Thanks for the encouragement DV :-)

There's still a few bugs to iron out but at least the major ones are ok now.

I had to take a break after doing a 12-hour shift at it today!

You deserve it man.

But on a sadder note the lobby is messed up, events that were going when you order the lobby to stop spawning events will not end and the lobby will not restart.

I can still go get that sledge hammer?

Sam, the pedestrians are great! I'm sorry I had to go to sleep, but I'm back to check on stuff. I'll make a full post when I'm done playing today; you probalby adjusted a lot during your marathon shift and I dont want to poste already-fixed bugs and such. :)
