The ability to reload, refuel and re-tire ourselves after a scout is a very nice option. So nice, I wish I could do it those times when the scout ends with me running away from the enemy, not boldly defeating him.

Sam, do you think we could get the option to do this from the squad page in between events? In particular, I'm thinking about long-distance travel, and how much easier those journeys would be if we could carry spare tires and exchange between attacks, and reload our flaming oil jets between encounters.

Or, would this make stuff too easy? That argument I can understand, but if so, it seems a bit illogical that you can do all of this if you go into battle and win, but not if you run away. Sure, when you've run from a fight, the enemy is still out there somewhere, possibly chasing you. But standing next to the smouldering wrecks of cars after a victorious battle is a good way to draw the attention of *other* enemies, on the other hand.

If balancing is needed, perhaps exchanging tires and reloading weapons (if you've only one gang member in the car, because otherwise, the gunner can reload the weapon in a matter of seconds) could carry a small risk of an additional road encounter, balanced against your scout's skill?

funny you mention the carrying tires in cargo Jonas!

I carry them ALL the time in case my armor gets punctured while carrying courier missions.

The tires I carry have taken hits b4 my mission cargo has on more events than I can name!

I learned, even if you have 22% remaining on a courier mission......you dont get paid!

Sam, did you come across this idea, or was it lost among the thousands of more clever ideas in this place? ;)

Sam, sorry to be a tire in your cargo space, but I find myself wanting this functionality more everyday. Was this thread lost among all the prodigious ideas of this ingenious community? (Believe it or not, no sarcasm intended or included ;) )

I do recall seing this thread before, not sure if I took note though... I have done now. From the squad page would make most sense, yes: allow vehicles to change tyres.

That would be very nice. Throw in reload weapons as well, and you'll make me a very happy coward ;)

I want to bring up this old post.....
i'd really like to have the loot screen even when you flee away.

Having to demoralize ALL cars (going hunting the ones that are no more able to cross a dune 'cause engine damage) just 'cause you REALLY need to pick the ammo boxes in the lorry cargo 'cause you know you'll have a gate encounter is.... strange?
If i flew, i should be able to stop somewhere and rearrange men and items as i need, drink or dischard some water, cure a wound, change pants, and so on....

I agree, this would make sense, and the change pants option would be useful if your guys got a bit scared. ;)

I agree but this needs to be coupled with the "attacked during the looting/management phase" idea, Sam is looking to integrate.

That's why i talk of this :D
And: car crew will be demoralize in 7 turns if you does not change "scared" pants :)

Why? It need the same time (or maybe even less) to swap a box between your vehicles as to go searching in all that wreck after a combat.
If we are not under pressure during a loot, we should not be also during a "reorganize after a flee". If we will be, then we will be in both the cases... i see no differences.

This is my point.
I think Sam should focuse on that when he will integrate this feature. Until then we have been living without it for more than a year. You should survive too.  ;)

Reloading can be done before the event starts, for free, in the client window. Before the event starts, assign gunner, select "Reload".

Tyres I guess can be done at the web page... or is that a mis-perception on my part?

Yeah, I've done this myself. Happens "instantly."

You can only do that if you're in town, and have the tyres on hand.

If you've already some ammos in the car.
I'm talking about swapping ammos (and maybe men) from vehicles between events.

Is a concept that is used for fuel: your squad shares fuel without any management: a vehicle loaded of fuel and/or with a big tank can refuel all the others without notice. I don't get why when you can transfer fuel from tanks or cans in a travel you can't transfer your precious, needed ammos from a lorry to a car. Opening the loot screen after any event you've not lost completly will solve this without harm.

I can survive without it, i guess. This does not mean it is coherent to the fuel management, just to stay to this example.

Just thinking out loud, but how about a compromise?

You "run" from an encounter. You're probably going to have a "gates of" encounter. You get a *chance* to have a "loot screen" before you get to that encounter. You get a button that says "Process Loot Screen" and another that says "Process Arrival." If you skip the loot screen and click arrival, you forfeit your chance, but have no other encounter before the possibility of the gates encounter. If you click loot screen, there's a chance that you have another encounter instead (ambushed while your convoy is stopped, or something like that).

As for the gas, I don't see it as my characters actually stopping to siphon gas back and forth (though sometimes in a role-playing way I *do* think of that - call me a geek <g>) but I see it as more of a game mechanic so you can take that small car further or not have to invest in a giant tank for every vehicle.

I've nothing against being ambushed while looting even after a pirate annihilation (well, travels will become INFINITE: i've kept playing for about 5 hours to run a lorry and escort from SS to GW...imagine how much time if i get gaught in ambush while swapping ammos in the loot phase...)

I agree that the "fuel sharing" mechanic allow little cars to travel long distance, and i like that. But since you can share fuel both from car's tanks and from cans, this imply that the convoy will stop, sometime, to refuel smaller-tank vehicles. It have to be done. I really dunno if the encounter "roll" already take this in account, but really we can't says that we have not to stop when travelling.
In this moments you can unload an ammo box from another vehicles without any additional risk.
As it have some meaning only if you have do combats, then it can be summarized in the loot phase after an event.

i wholeheartedly second that. with a true loot screen you could do any number of things. for instance you could use a pickup truck like a pickup truck and carry spare ammo and tires in it, and use those to reload your more crammed combat vehicles.

Uh? management of what?
This is "between combat" tactic: put wounded in a safer seat, use fresh men for the next event, use supplies to reload, and if your short of them choose what to reload. Tactical choices.

I assumed that there is no "roll" for that... If you have a vehicle that needs it, it just happens. If there's a "roll" for it, then using smaller tanks would cause a bigger chance for encounters. I don't think that happens, I think it is just a game mechanic to increase range.
