Until trucks and mechanic skills are useful, is there any way of getting driver-skilled people from the tavern?

I've killed two of mine and my third one has a broken leg (all 20+ drivers) and now I'm down to the hordes of random-skillers (like 21 trucking! Big 10-4 daddyo!)
