You may have to play around with the Wine version, and you may have to install a separate version of steam in playonmac. Sometimes I've had to use a way older version of Wine to run an older game. Honestly, if you jonesed bad enough, you can buy almost any old thinkpad (think $150 - $200) and throw on a free linux to play. Darkwind actually works better on Linux than Windows, across a few different linux distros (Mint and Manjaro). If you go the linux route Manjaro is decidedly simply, but I hear Mint may be simpler. For amount of software that works with turning on the AUR, or community repositories, I pick Manjaro (easy Arch) all day. ......................... vet wv0,2,0 Posted Jul 19, 2024, 7:34 pm

Just got in off the road and the win7 iso d/l was SUPER fast - so I'm installing that via UTM for Mac and we'll see what happens... Check if the Macbook Air is headed to the https site, and clear the cookies for that site, then try again.
