It seems that I can't get the updates to complete, every time I run it I get some version of this error:

Sorry about that!

It turns out that at some time in the past, for reasons unknown, I had pointed the patcher to waronwheels.net rather than dark-wind.com. I can't recall any good reason for having done this, but in any case I stopped paying for waronwheels.net some time ago, hence it stopped working.

It should work again now.. patcher is pointed back to correct domain.

The way to do it:

Download the DW installer, run it, install, etc. The last screen, there will be an option to run DW or not; clear it, close the installer. Make sure you install Java at some point before proceeding.

Find the DW executable. Right-click; click on Compatbility Tester or whatever it's called. There will be a series of questions; I checked the 1st three (ran on prev Windows version, needs special permissions, and I forget the 3rd one - the 4th option was "unknown" or something)

I selected Windows 7 as the compatible OS. Win 10 did the rest, and applied settings automatically (will always run as admin in Win 7 compatibility mode)

Voila, it works perfectly
