League Sponsorships & Prizes

*sam* The Salthill Sluggerz Darkwind Guru Renegade Group: Lead Developer Posts: 16,780 Joined: Jan 19, 2006 From next season (2079) there will be 5 leagues sponsored by camps (previously there were 3), offering extra camp fame for the year. These are done via auctions at Dexter's, as normal. Also, a number of leagues will offer camp fame boosts or camp production boosts as prizes. The prizes will apply for the game year following the one in which the league runs. As a trial, the new prizes are being run on the Gateway Winter Meltdown during the current season (2078). Sounds good but please make sure its not just for Leagues that only people in certain parts of the world, or who have certain job schedules can participate in.  Winter Meltdown is one of those that excludes many people (as does 2 guineas and some others I cant remember).  I assume this will apply to all leagues most likely? *Splurs* Splurs Scroungers Racer Renegade Group: Marshals Posts: 163 Joined: Dec 17, 2012 I admit I was interested to join the GWM league for the reason of a fame boost, any fame boosting events I would be more inclined to do, or else I will go scout outside of town. Is there a reason for the Pro events? I have never really looked at them, as with almost all town events they generally don't give me any reason to play them, and I feel that others would be the same. For the time it takes to run one town event I can run a scout, and get more ganger skill gain. Of course there would need to be a balance some how, maybe limit a camps town fame gains a week? Scale is the enormous difference  It would take a whole lot more time to earn enough money to bid on even the cheapest sponsorship.  Last year I think the cheapest went for 60 million?  How many scouts is that?  Even if you award a single point of fame for a single Pro event it would be much much faster. The grind rewards are there and they are absolutely rediculously damaging to the spirit of this game. Fights over it in fact...witchhunts over it. I can show u guys pvp that is NO FUN FOR ANYONE if you really want it? That gateway dr was absolutely amazing and i probably have no chance at a fame boost. Restricting the bonus to 3 game months makes it useless...planning camp builds takes nearly that long. Please guys dont let the usual uninformed opinions ruin this wonderful change sam finally made.
