Issue with events/leagues, Richer get richer

Paul Simon Ceewolves Racer Renegade Group: Members Posts: 102 Joined: Jun 2, 2015 Issue with most of the events/leagues is that players who least need/benefit from the prizes are ususally the ones that win. Yes all events need to be open to everyone and anything can happen in a race but when more than a single race is involved if an experienced player decides to play it is over of the rest. I.E Santa Sleight race. I think 28 players signed up, but who won? the people with the top 4 qualifing times. This is not to disparage their skill or gangers skill, but for the rest of us who are not at that level yet are just living off their crumbs. Yes most other players doen't have the engine to put into and squad car or ambluance or have lasers to put into it. WOuld be ncie to be albe to have one even if it sits in the garage. That is how the Alley did it for so long. I was one of the four top qualifiers, but I have done a lot of races. I have only ever won minor league. Squadcars and Ambys are considered top tier unicorns. You are only getting one if you grind a lot of money and pay someone, get a lot better and win one or makes friends with someone. I was winning big league races in my 1st month here. Only thing that's going to make you better is track time. I ran that race with my newest hire, no specs at all. Darkwind Guru Mutants Faction Group: Rules Council Posts: 3,543 Joined: Jan 12, 2008 While not the norm for special events, I did notice from the outside looking in this latest event did appear to favor those with the most skill and best qualifying time. While waiting for a COE event I noticed PA and Joel were up front in the player event listing and I predicted one of them would win simply based on how the event was setup. I said to myself last night, why was that event setup this way as it appeared flawed. There really was not much of a chance for those not usually involved in constant race track time. Things that did not make much sense for the Santa event in my opinion. Gunnery skill limited per character, but a flaming moose was the event car. Because a flaming moose was the chosen car by someone, there was no ranged shooting to take out lead drivers/players so if you managed to get beyond the range of a flamethrower, you were mostly safe. Too safe in my opinion for what is considered a "deathrace" and a top tier prize. Not sure why there were qualifiers. This would obviously give the edge to those with track skill and not make the event more random and put every player on equal footing. If you have 25 players in an event, I would think you'd use a bigger track, or one that has a bigger or wider starting line. In my opinion it should have been a no qualifier event using a ranged weapon car (would have given meaning to limit gunnery skill) on a larger track. It would have been fair for everyone involved and given less skilled players a chance. Hell even the EAA event rules could have been tossed aside. That being said, it was a blast (No pun) intended, and if more event's like this done (Like the one you hosted awhile back Tango, that I won) Game would be more inaeresting. My challenge to the rest of the community? Put up that extra CC or Buzzer as a prize for rookies. Make 'em fight for it. A lot of the "vet" player have so much #### in so, many places, they don't even know what they own. That's my only piece. As I understand it When nine sticks removed his whole gang... Sam deleted it... Sam changed the name of the old gang to Volt Dwellers. He did the same for me when I deleted my first gang. There is an old peacekeepers gang in the vault. At that point an empty gang was left in the database and for some reason not removed from the vault camp list. They are empty shells created by Sam. That is certainly the case for my old gang... If the volt dwellers in the vault is not nines old gang I don't know who it belongs to. It's certainly not a nine sticks alt and it looks like a well played gang. But never let facts get in the way of a deliberate obfuscation. It's funny.. I never said you had any alt accounts.. Why so strangely defensive? It's almost like you actually have some! While some may have gotten the necessary understanding to race effectively i have not. Yes very well could be a deficeincy on my part but I still don't understand the impact of the care settings on handling. If there was a way I could run the same car on the same track and then adjust the settings to see the difference it would help. I just want to understand how to race, not point fingers or blame the game system.
