"So let me get this straight, if we hire someone we have to give them a full day before firing them?" asked Daniel incredulously.

"Them's the rules." said Stephen.

The two both took a long draw on their beers, staring into distance outside Dexter's, scanning the horizon.

"So we let her drive the wrecks back for a full shift." Stephen implored.

"That's a fake name she gave. I refuse to believe some woman named her kid Anita Beer." Daniel argued.

Stephen asked, "What's wrong with that name?"

"Man you are dense. Anyway, what's to keep us from just hauling her off somewhere and throwing her out of the pickup, at full speed? She hit every damn hole in the road the first time out and just about flipped that carrier van. TWICE." Daniel asked.

The two men quietly finished their beers, not making any eye contact.

Clifton walks in silently and brushes the dust off his hat before placing it neatly on a nearby hat rack, He couldn't help but catch parts of a conversation involving a ludicrously named woman and her inability to drive a basic van.

He slowly approaches the two gentlemen and mutters "Women drivers these days..." as he pulls up a stool next to them

"And with a name like that I'm surprised she can even drive down a straight road, much less the sandy dunes of the north.... better off without her I say!" Clifton tiredly groaned as he ordered a beer.
