I wanted to get some input and suggestions you all of you. Also, to see if these would be popular enough implement.

1) SS Town Defense "Scav Only" players. Currently, Scavs cannot join in the defenses nor join in with Normies. Having an event like this would be a fun challenge with a lot of risk/rewards.

2) A League that is "Scav Only". Currently, Scavs and Normies can participate in league play together. Having a separate league may give all new or old players an equal chance at winning a title.

What types, guidelines, rules, or structure would you like to see in these events. I would like to get as many different opinions as possible, so please post your thoughts here.

This is off the cuff, I'm not sure how it would work. But something similar to camps might be a nice addition. This could be what Scavs would band together to defend or attack, instead of towns.

I don't know what the benefits of having a camp would be. Located between towns would reduce travel times, which is true for regular camps. Maybe the camps could be somewhat mobile to fit the nomad nature of scavs? Dunno, just free-floating ideas here.

Maybe give a small bonus to repair or scrap rolls in a camp?

Not having camps is part of why Scav is what it is. Harder and to be more resourceful and self-sufficient. Character field training and development is where most of the focus should be for your gang.

If you want a mobile type camp, that would be Goat's Gang. He could do for you the same as any camp, just cost you materials and some goods.

Right, I wasn't suggesting the same kind of camp the norms have. But some sort of bolthole outside the towns for them to retreat to. It seems a bit off to me that these vagabonds of the blasted wastelands go back to town at the end of the day.

Maybe something like Bartertown from Beyond Thunderdome. A place for Scav-only events or missions. Although some of the south towns may fit that role. I'm not down there at all, so I'm not sure what the flavor is.

Again, I'm just spitballing ideas, in case they prompt an actual good idea from someone else.

An expansion on the Bartertown idea:
* Scav-only destination
* Hosts events semi-regularly
** If as often as SS, they need to be bloodier. Not sure how this would be accomplished. Maybe fewer NPC gangs, with more skill, and fewer prizes, so there's more push for the players to compete with each other, and more competition from the NPCs? I don't know the details of how the system runs NPCs or determines prizes, so that's all pretty vague right now.
** Also don't run non-violent matches. No races or paintball. Only combats, deathraces & ped fights. Maybe make some ped fights melee weapons only, if that's an option.
* Recruiting is faster there, maybe a 3 or 4 day turnaround, if that's customizable.
** If recruitment is faster, the starting skill level needs to be lower. Skill caps should be unaffected.

Bartertown should be reachable by non-Premium players, probably located somewhere between Gateway and Badlands.

The goal I'm aiming for is to create a more violent town that promotes more conflict between the players. To do that, events should be common, prizes should be limited, recruitment should be fast to replace losses, and everyone should have access.

Maybe also make it the default Scav hometown rather than Somerset?

Again, just spitballing ideas, seeing if anything sticks. (gad that's a disgusting metaphor)

An expansion on the Town Defense for Scavs only idea - an event for Scavs and Scav NPC gangs (is there such a thing?) only. The idea is of the vultures descending on the battlefield to pick over the scraps left behind.

- maybe put a CR limit on what can join per gang? To keep it smallish.
- Battlefield is pre-stocked with a couple battered wrecks. Almost all good stuff should have been taken already, but there might still be something.
- Gangs can offer truces.
- Battle continues until all non-surrendered gangs truce or there is only one gang left.
- Loot screen is available to all truced non-surrendered gangs. The winners take turns like normal scouts picking loot from surrendered gangs and the pre-stocked wrecks.
- Maybe have random ammo & supplies chance increased.

To make it more blood-thirsty, can eliminate the truce rule, and only the last standing gang gets to loot.

Adding some events for Scavs is what my proposal was about. I was hoping to get more player comments and opinions that would make pursuing these possible additions worthwhile. I don't want to add this to a list knowing there isn't enough interest to support the time to add it.

But ask around when there are other Scavs in the lobby and see if there are more players wanting these types of events. Send me a PM or post here when you get any updates.

Is there any way of pulling a list of the people who are *active* as Scavs? There's no guarantee that the ones I run into are everyone. If we find out that there are only 6 of us, then that might put a damper on any devs of any sort.

We might also try to think of ways to recruit some new Scav players.

PS - I'm afraid I'm always thinking of random ideas, many of them turn out to not be good or practical. But hopefully somewhere in there a good one will turn up.

The Bartertown Idea is nice.

It would be nice to have a location where you can trade CPs for repairs (basicly a 100+ NPC mechanic for those players who don't have a skilled mechanic. Or their Mech died)

If would be nice to have a Scavs only Auction House or even a Market to list goods. Even if it was a "make me an Offer" type where I list an item and say I want Water and then people bid in water. Something Automated so that the Scavs that play when im sleeping can trade with my gang. As it is Brunwulf may have something I need and be willing to trade but I never see him online.

Someplace where recruiting is faster would be required if events were bloodier. Losing Scavs can be harder than losing normies due to the limits. Losing 1 is not an issue but losing 6 cripples you for months.

I would love to see some scav only events. I think a fun twist could be that the losing parties may have a "return" of sorts. There is no way that all the race tracks are actually in town so why not have losers of races with supplied cars or if their cars were destroyed have to walk home and end up with a ped encounter.

Also im all for melee only events.

Dont really need a scav only league, scavs are just as capable of winning leagues as normal gangs when its leagues where vehicles are supplied. Just need to adjust payouts to include scav prizes throughout the league standings to award 4th-10th. Would also like track record prizes for scavs too!
