There are quite a few players, myself included who enjoy winning new badges.
Changing some of the little leagues (last but one row down on the events page) and having some new badges to win could add some interest in them all next season?
Easy thing to implement, and there are several players who would enjoy making some new badges- so lots of players would get something out of it.
Even if it's just one of the little leagues that gets changed, with a new badge to be won, every season- I'm sure it would have a significant interest. I'm sure even PA is getting bored winning the same old thing every season!

At the top of the screen, cursor over Events. Drop down window will appear, then select Current Leagues. This will show you all the leagues for the entire year. Click on one to get details and options to join.

Most leagues are held in the northern triangle, so there are plenty you can join. But there are some that have events that are held in the southern towns. As an unsubbed player, you won't be able to do those unless you can find a way to get a crew to those towns.
