Clay 'Pigeon' Rojas stumbles into the Inn. Shivering uncontrollably, a few members notice Clay and rush over to help him. They get him over by the fireplace and cover him with warm blankets. Once they get a few stiff drinks in him, he starts to talk.

"The four us, The Renshai, The Tronophiles, Quantum Symphony and The Darkside, lined up waiting for the pirates to come charging in. We all looked at each other with wide eyes when we counted 17 of them."

"We barely had time to turn before the bullets and rockets came flying in! We scattered like ####roaches when the lights are turned on. We knew already that there were gonna be casualties, we just had to outlast them damn Slavers!"

"The Tronophiles got blasted over a snowbank. Then the hoard drove over and gutted their vehicle. Brains everywhere, it was gruesome! Then The Renshai got taken down next once their vehicle flipped on its roof from multiple rocket hits."

"We had five of those buggers chasing us while the QS crew utilized terrain to dodge the half dozen chasing them. There were a lot them to take down and it wasn't gonna be easy."

"We found a good spot to flip around. We quickly took down one then a merc came over a slope. We hit it in the side and knocked it into a large pit. Creeping to the lip, we starting firing on it. Then the snow gave way and we fell in with the merc and started close range dog fighting.

"QS radioed their status and they needed backup ASAP. So we turn in hard toward the merc's breach side and gun recoil flipped us over! Boop, still weakened, mustered all her strength and pyro'd that thing good!"

"I volunteered to get out and do what only option we had, fight on foot. I pumped a few SMG rounds into them to finish off their gunner. That thing was a burning inferno and I've seen way too many explosions to know I was in danger. I freaked!, sorry boss, but I did and just hauled ass and ran!"

"Sally hopped out the car and flipped it back on its wheels in no time. Me, I was running and good thing to because as soon as Sally jumped in, the merc blew!

"I waved them on and yelled to go help QS. I had enough guns on me to take care of myself. I just climbed up on the highest hill to watch the rest of the fight."

"With only half of the Slavers gang taken out of action, Boop and Sally charged ahead. They took out a couple more Slavers on their way to meet up with Felica and her crew."

"QS guys drive pretty darned good. They were able to get a few of them to chase them into Morgan Lake and they got stuck and drowned. And that's when we finally met back up with them."

"We agreed that we had to get back to town where the rest of the Slavers were waiting for us. We both took down 2 more and then darted for the front gates. There were four more left and we were hoping that they would chase us and slide on the snow and into the Lake."

"Once we got into town, we flipped around just inside the gates. The Slavers came charging in. We both fired our guns, hoping the blasts would push them in the icy water. But no, why would this defense have anything easy to it!"

"Just when I knew it was gonna get tough again... ::Click click click!:: I heard Boop yell all the way from town that they ran out of ammo!! I knew it was gonna end ugly now."

"Boop threw that thing in reverse and backed up between a building and the town wall to protect the low armored sides. Then we heard Felica yell out that they just ran out of ammo too!! And then they threw theirs in reverse too."

"4 Slavers left and all we had left were our SMGs. If we were going down today, it would be defending our town till the last drop of blood hit the snow. I saw the look in Felica's eyes, she knew what I was thinking and her crew jumped out to fight on foot."

"Then, out of nowhere, our Apache took a rocket to the side. It knocked Boop out cold and Sally's leg was ripped off from the explosion! A lump in my throat lodged there as I see my crew in danger. And then it gets worse... TWO LARGE BEARS!! both of them looking for food, turned and started charging in at them!"

"Felica's crew started pumping rounds into anything moving. The bears went down after getting pelted with bullets. Then they switched back to the Slavers and took one out and they headed for cover around the building. They waited there for a Slaver to drive out of the alleyway. It peaked out just far enough to get a gangster style bullet parade into it's breached side!"

"I couldn't believe it! We still have a chance. I hope it ends fast because Sally was bleeding out bad! Felica and her gang held their ground. 2 Slavers left and the first was driving around towards them. More gun fire sent the Windy II into the guard tower. I was urging it to fall into the lake, but it would not be that easy, not today."

"That Windy II got off 2 lucky shots thru the guard tower and took down Felica and one of her crew! I couldn't believe she was about to take the last two down and now she got shot!"

Only Amanda, from QS, was left to fight. I yelled for her to get into one of the Slavers cars. Then she ran as fast as she could towards one. Behind a building she ducked, than ran up on top of a bank of snow and fire a few rounds into the roof of that Slaver."

"I looked around to see what danger awaits. Amanda took cover and waited a bit to reload. I was so focused on watching Amanda, somehow that Windy II ended up in the lake!! Then I was even more shocked when Boop woke up and got out!"

"Then I heard ballistic fire from the last Slaver pick up. Boop was still a little woozy and looked like she wasn't sure where she was. ::PLAP:: paint gun round right on Boop!!, then another.... and another! The pick up came rolling in thru the gates and right towards a staggering and painted Boop. Her arms out stretched trying to feel her way to a safe spot till machine gun fire took her down!"

"Sally was bleeding out, Boop shot, so Amanda snuck in that shot up Slaver car. The pick up knew someone was left, just didn't know where. Random weapon fire into wrecked chassis to see if they got their prey, but no luck."

"Amanda stays hidden while the pick up drives thru town slowly. They got a keen sense of smell and they know someone is hiding. :THUMP: The pick up ran into one of the bear carcasses that Felica shot. Irritated, the Slaver stepped on the gas an rammed the carcass. Somehow it got stuck in the front bumper, so he continued driving with bear head flopping around the tire."

"Amanda peeks out and sees the pick up. She gets the truck in her sights and waits for the right moment. The truck turns sharply and finally loses the carcass. You can see the Slaver look back to see if it is gone."

::Smash!!:: "AAAayyyyyy!!" yells the Slavers in the pick up. "They were too busy looking for the floppy bear head that they ran into the town wall!" "AAAAaaaayayyyyyyy!!" they scream again as the truck tires slip and they head straight down into Morgan Lake!!"

"After all that went bad for us all battle long, we finally got the one break we needed! WE ACTUALLY WON!! I fell back into the snow, flailed my arms and legs and made spastic snow angels!.

Boop and Sally?!? Oh no!!, I look up and see Amanda rushing over to Boop. She lowers and shakes her head. At that point I knew Boop didn't make it. Amanda went to our Apache where she heard groans of pain. She pulls out Sally, a bloody mess, but still alive. She carried her just a few meters to get to the Inn."

"After that, I just started my run back to town. It was late, dark and very cold. I started losing feeling in my toes from the soft snow, but I finally made it back."

"We are getting thin up here boss, but I ain't leaving. I will stay here and fight as long as you wish me to be here. I will round up the rest of the guys to get our crew set. I know we don't have much time because we are about to go thru this mess again at sundown!"

Let it be known to all who pass here that the gangs that gave their lives here tonight, The Renshai, The Tronophiles, Quantum Symphony are truly Heros of Morgan and their names will never be forgotten.

S687652 - A sad day for Quantum. We will miss you, Felica.

OOC: Yeah, my gang leader lost his leg, and is at 0 for a few days. I am moving people up. I got stuck for the last hundred turns and couldn't get my ped back into the fight. After 3 and half hours, it didn't occur to me to use the mmg to recoil the Duelist backward so I could escape.

ooc: I was wondering what happened at the end. I didn't watch all 700 turns, just jumped around. The replay was all messed up by turn 500.

You did an amazing job sir, well done.

Respect to those that fought and those that died.

The battles appear more brutal as of late, I would hope a good scout is used to help minimize the amount of CR that shows up. When I watched a previous one with 26 on 4?, I said someone must have really rolled really bad on the scout roll or no one brought a scout.

OOC: I always bring a scout along, never seemed to matter much as of late. I guess that explains why he died a couple weeks back too, bad roll.

Much more of a challenge (And I enjoy that) and it certainly is not boring anymore. Some of these defenses you really have to work it now.
