No you try a different perspective

This a post-apocalyptic world – there aren’t the large factories with the production lines turning out hundreds and thousands of the same model of car, that look the same and have the same equipment.

OK I’ll accept that in game we do have the standard designs but that is due to not being able to programme the game to produce random designs. But thinking that these are the production line clones is not correct.

Work is done mostly is smaller workshops, so things aren’t all the same – things are more bolted together and thrown out the door.

Think more in terms of poorer counties where stuff might have the same body shells but mechanical underneath they are a mismatch of parts that people can get their hands on and handmade replacements.

So each car is an individual so why wouldn’t have their own name – they would be called whatever the driver/gang wanted too – an old girlfriend’s name, some random name from an old fragment of a book etc.

As to knowing what the name was it could be painted on somewhere, or the names could be picked up in radio chatter

Anyway it has been remove so I don't know why I bothering with this conversation anymore

What if?:

If a particular model was duplicated it used a random name.

e.g. A scout with 3 Badlanders becomes a fight against a Badlander, 'Cojo' and 'Diddlysquat.'

Alternatively as I suggested previously perhaps named vehicles have the benefit of renowned+ status making them harder to demo.

Having most of the vehicles with random names was confusing and was difficult to explain to newer players but the random names did add some flavour.

Perhaps random names could kick in once an NPC gang is over a certain fame? All in all it seemed to add unnecessary complexity to an already steep learning curve for newer players.
