*The X Man* Better Off Dead Darkwind Guru Slavers Faction Group: Game Manager Posts: 2,207 Joined: Jul 25, 2012 The way I see it, there is always going to be scheduling conflicts with global player base. So if there is always going to be disagreements on time, which there will be, I suggest this change. The SCL has a Home and Away team on the schedule. Why not elimate the time preference averages that are used to determine the best time, because it doesn't always work. Allow the "Home" team to set the time of the event. The Home team can still be sportsmanlike and ask the Away team to agree upon a date and time like we do now, but the Home team will have the final say as to when the event will be scheduled. Due to there being only 9 events, half the teams will get an extra "Home" team time set, but that shouldn't really make too many players throw a fit, or will it?!? (Maybe add one NPC team into the mix so there will be 5 home and away events). One other option to help insure that a time and date are agreed upon is the team that wins a SCL because the other team couldn't make the time slot only gets 2 points for an uncontested victory. Those missing single points will make it very difficult to win the league, so there will be a sense of urgency for the teams doing well to actually make sure they work out a time/date that gets agreed upon. These are just a couple suggestions to see if there is a new system that will work better than the current one in place. The current system we have now isn't really broken, it just needs players to bend it together in the right direction to make it work. I did feel very bad if this caused his team to not qual for Div 4 next season(that's all that matters in div 5). I don't feel bad any more. Thank you. So That whole week I was in quebec starting the 21s when he first messaged me - yes flying and driving in La Belle Provence on a FKING Sunday for work. It's a fking ordeal to travel across Canada on a fking sunday because we yes, have truly become america's hat...regaining tangent... I'm in training in head office all week on #### I barely know (but should know) so I am not checking personal emails there, and since my french is ####, convincing the front desk to stop fking me with ####ty wireless in my room that my company paid 10 extra canadian dollhairs a night for. I get on, try to get a league combat each night, while writing my new pen pal bigspenner the absolutely smallest messages my drained brain can provide. Somewhere in the week we started to narrow down the 55 possible mins of the day we could possibly meet for this match(which I am notorious for missing or fking up forgetting my car or gangers - ask my teammates). A couple nights I was playing translator for two married guys on the course, to illiterate strippers that spoke less English than I knew French. Two of them shared a tattoo that read "That which does not kill you makes you stronger". Neither could source the fking quote THEY PERMANENTLY TATTOOED ON THEIR BODIES. They also didn't know who the #### Nietzsche was. So I managed to buddy up with a couple contacts in my company and not feel TOOO guilty for being chauffeur and translator for their deprivations, while their fking wives are calling us in between dens of stinking villainy. There is nothing worse than married guys on "business" trips. Friday at lunch, the most amazingly GORGEOUS waitress actually hits on ME and I tell these two to catch a goddam cab to the airport, because my flight just got delayed by ohhh umm AS LONG AS IT TAKES. I can tell you while Canadian east\west relations were going on, the last thing I am thinking is, holy PHUCK bigspenner might have suggested a time for DIV 5 - I better get off this broad and check my darkwind game for PMs! Definitely I am done with the "talking" part of this game. ATM we select our best times and the schedule is organised between them. We can then change if a time can be agreed upon. If not agreeable we need to take the original time. Its the fairest way. musashi_san sunset samurai Darkwind Guru Renegade Group: Members Posts: 1,118 Joined: May 7, 2012 this whole thread is massively out of line imo. i have had this happen to me repeatedly, sometimes due to my own stupidity and sometimes because people are just difficult, and have always been told to just suck it up, which i do, including my recent inability to reschedule a match because the team owner quit the game and i was on a flight over an ocean at the time and just plain could not show. and yes, sometimes it is me that's difficult, because i have a life, like almost all of you. the scheduling is a pita, no question, but trust me joel would *much* rather show up and shoot the crap out of you than get a victory by default, especially in V. not even close. for those of you that are new to scl this is just how it goes, and over time you'll be the beneficiary as much as you get screwed, because, guess what, that part is not a conspiracy. really.
