Hybrid ped/vehicle combats

Seems to me the "one free ganger a week" limit must get tested an awful lot. Never seen stats on this, but I have to imagine these have the highest fatality rate of any leauge there is. I remember when a hotrod was a cool thing to have (maybe that was just me), now days they are a dime a dozen. Some of the leagues have some big prizes, some not so big. I started that way, but ended up just hiring bodies for ped events.  Since they are kinda expendable, no worries.  If they live long enough to get a spec, i'll be surprised.  (One is getting close)  The AI is pretty consistant on running straight to their deaths so having new PVPers will be great.  Wish list - Ped armor.  Usually ped armor takes the form of a car, but in a ped event, some armor could make them last longer.  Wouldn't expect it to stand up to vehicle weapons, but maybe a hit to the head/chest could be a concussion (or KO) instead of death.  Wist list - a heavier ped weapon vs cars.  Some one mentioned it.  Don't need a dozen, maybe 1 or 2. Out of the event but he lived to fight again. I had another guy take one burst from a SMG, and he was deader than a doornail. I'll miss Bernard. He was one of those guys that got played a lot! I had one guy take an anti-tank round that only broke his collar bone and knocked him out. I assume that it had to be a glancing blow. I'm glad. King Tiger bailed out of a burning, barrel-rolling Chomper after his driver had his head blown off, and was running for his life. SMG will chew through that Yorkie in 2 to 3 turns.  I wouldnt worry too much about it being scary.  Although any ball of steel rolling at you going 70Mph is pretty scary.  I just wish it didnt have guns on it.  The guns on the car is kind of counter to the suggestion unless of course each side has a car.
