15 seconds would eliminate any type of team strategy. There would be no time to communicate.

It would certainly restrict it and rush it. But on many turns I can enter a move a lot faster than 15 seconds, leaving me time for a quick comment. Actually sounds like fun.

Or people could use teamspeak.

I'm with Longo on this, 15 seconds isn't enough time.
ESPECIALLY if you're new, or have more than one vehicle.

I can just imagine the newer players trying to figure out what in the world's going on midfight and 10 seconds later losing their gangleader.

I'll just come out and say it, though: To make combat perfect and make everyone happy, keep everything exactly the same and introduce motorcycles.

And now that I think of it, there was a game we'd play called Invasion - damn that'd be cool. Two teams on a field, the object of the game is to capture the other team's balls (were American footballs). You'd place 5 balls (or macguffins) spaced out a bit at your end of the field (pitch?) where the goal line is. The other team does the same on their side. The middle line is where the action splits. In our game you could get your flag (as in flag-football) pulled if you crossed into the enemy's territory and if it was pulled you'd have to go to "jail" - a small square in your enemy's territory. So you have two objectives to get on their side (balls ((to get all the balls in play on your side)), jail ((to release those who were caught on their side))), three objectives to go after on your side (jail, balls, any enemies in your territory) and tons of people on the field (30 players). Do you go to your jail in enemy's territory to get another person out who was "captured" (and let both of you get back to your territory), do you go for the balls?, do you hang out somewhere in your territory?, do you protect the balls? If we had enough people that could be intense.

Course you'd have to change it up a bit, but that with guns n cars...


Putting two movement phases in would make combats twice as long.

Only do reduced move/shoot times for "quickdm/quickctf/quickdomination" types. Different people play fer different reasons. It's why in FPS games you see different people in deathmatches than in objective maps than in freeze tags.






Mix things up enough and you'd have what everyone wants: Unreal Tournament (99) with cars.

Lock out the mouses ability to select anything during the firing phase, except the menu by the timer. This would cut off what may be the most common exploit.
