This will help attract some new players for the league once they see the large payouts that we had last season. Also, I still have not seen the badge I created for this league on Splash's race achievements. Is this something we have to get Sam to take care of so it would also be available to this next season's winner as well? That's exactly what i had in mind when i started this thing! Just to remind everyone that there are ONLY two rules in 99 OPEN races. 1) Only 1 vehicle per player. 2) Your vehicle MUST be below the 200 chassis bulk limit. The fact that *JD Basher* is a MARSHALL, and knowingly entered an illegal vehicle in a player run league pissed me off. I REALLY, REALLY, regret not redding his gangers after I demoed him on the first lap! Seriously though, I, and a number of other players, have put a lot of time, effort, and money into this league. I'm not having ANYONE- (gnarly old forum warrior or otherwise) screw around with it. In future, anyone who has an illegal vehicle in the entry list within 10 minutes of the start, better not bleat about the consequences afterwards. Thanks again to everyone else for this mornings event. He joined us just to have a fun race. We told him not to worry about it other wise he would not have been able to join us. I felt a bit bad for the guy really as we told him no worries and that he would just get no points for it. He wasn't going to red people out or dominate the event or anything like that. It was just one of those times where the rules were bent a little for the sake of fun and being being able to have newer players, like you and me, go up against the old school vets. I had no issue with it and none of the other players did either. We all understand that keeping the integrity of the 99 Open rules in tact is a must by all participants since you cannot implement certain restrictions in a player generated event. Bottom line, it was probably one of the best 99 Open races since it was installed last season. Not to mention the best player turn out with a total of 11 and it had more Marshalls in it than a bad B movie Western. But I do hope this becomes a stepping stone that will allow us to see more double digit entry races this season. It may be wise to attend this event about 30 minutes before it takes place to go over rules with players. It will also give us time to help players resolve client and tech support issues prior to the start of the race. So the next time JD can't view the game in full screen mode, the big giant head will pop up and say, "Did you remember reloads??, and did you remove your empty beer cans that are in front of your monitor?!?". One thing that needs to be done is the posting the updates of the final race standings and the "current season standings". I don't want to see players lose interest by not maintaining this after each race that is completed. The league has good momentum now, it is up to you to keep it going. As always, I offer my assistance for anything you may need help with to keep the league going strong. (Was there an error in the time change for the start of the event or is it going to continue at 0900 server time?) Use the forum here to keep everyone in the loop as to what is happening week to week.
