99 OPEN league

2 races every Saturday for the whole season, at 09.00 and 21.00
4 laps of a SS circuit- no EAA rules, no restrictions on vehicles, weapons, gangers etc.

If players enter both races, I will take the average of points scored.

Prize money will be as follows:

1st = 50k
2nd= 30k
3rd= 15k
4th= 10k
5th= 5k

At the end of the season- final prizes will be:

1st= 5LV12
2nd= 5LV8
3rd= BPU chassis
4th= Car Cannon
5th= random chassis (either a Corgi, Eaton, Vamp, Buccaneer)

I'm not really equipped for 'em. Best I could do is offer up one of my MG-armed morays for destruction by the rest of you. :cyclops:

Not much of an "unlimited" guy anyway. Loose Cannons are small-timers with little ambition.

As for the other, if you have a chassis you're offering as a prize I could customize it for ya. If you have an Osprey I could even slap the Bandit paintjob on it... that one's more than a little popular. I'm wary of setting up a "free custom paint" offer though, as I've no guarantee on production time, inspiration, or anything else from one day to the next. There are, however, a couple of new paint shops open. Maybe they'd be interested in producing something as a promotional effort?

Here's something for the prize pool discussion:

Chrome Religion will provide a "CARe Package" for the "new" player (less than 10 weeks in at League start) who places highest in the rankings at the end of the season.

The package will include a fully loaded and armored vehicle, added weapons (vehicle and ped), ammo, and a few cans of starter fuel. All items will be determined as discussions progress.

Groove Champion's very generous offer has given me a bit of an idea...

How about every week it is a 'themed' race?

For example- the 1st week would be any config vehicle upto 3.2LV8.

2nd week would be Phoenix chassis only

3rd week- anything upto 5L engine size

4th week- box vans only- etc,etc

I really likr this idea- but if general consensus is no- then i will stick to the original OPEN format.

Comments welcome please?

A themed race format would be a good idea. It would eliminate player dominance based on the vehicles they own. But , to be fair and not to penalize or restrict a player that has earned those rare vehicles, one of the themes should be a "Bring the Best You Got" race as well. So far you are getting off to a good start on organizing this event/league.

As far as what my skin donation prize would be is a skin of the winners choice to go on a chassis of their choice. That means they can give me a color, design, graphic, etc. of what they want and I will create one based off of that information. It will be a true " the only one in Evan" player owned skin!

WOW! what a generous offer X MAN!

So, 1st prize will now be 500k and a one-off, custom paint job of your own wishes- donated by X MAN!

Of the 12 races, I am going to run 6 OPEN Deathraces, 1 OPEN RACE (on SS rally circuit- should be fun!)
And 5 Themed events.

So far I have come up with:

1= Phoenix DR
2= 3.2LV8 anything goes DR
3= Van Wars- (box vans and carrier vans only- no weapon, engine restrictions)
4= RAM weapons only (not sure about this one- could be good- could be boring)

Comments/Ideas welcome please?

My major concern is that the weekly prize money may be a bit too meagre for new/middling players to risk their decent hardware, but unless I spend the next 3 months whacking traders for 10 hours a day- i'm not really able to offer more by myself!

SAM has promised to promote these events in the lobby- so if there are any DW 'gods' out there who want to help me out financially- we could up the prize funds to make it more enticing?

As a Griefing Griefer of Grief, I reserve the right to refuse a player his participation prize. My offer to Brunwulf was made to encourage participation in this event, and to encourage interaction between players.

It was not made to encourage players who engage in behavior that harms Dark Wind or Dark Wind's community: players who make false allegations in the forums, engage in PM harrassment, cheat, encourage cheating or benefit from cheating are excluded from my offer.

[EDIT]: I should add that, as things currently stand, the list of excluded players is extremely short. The list has been declared openly in the forums, and the exclusion would not come as a surprise to anyone concerned.

Groove Champion has already given me a cash donation to help fund the 99 OPEN league, and if he want's to donate enigines for the forth-coming events, that is much appreciated. It is, after all, up to him who he gives his items to.

As far as I am concerned:

Anyone and everyone is welcome and invited to take part in the events that I will be setting up.
All players, whoever they are, will be subject to the same rules and receive the same rewards.

If anyone has an Osprey they can sell me- please get in touch, cos I think that the JeeTeeOh 'bandit' Osprey would be another REALLY excellent end of season prize!
