A change I made to the training code (that runs early every Friday morning) caused training to run 100 times more than it should have today. I have had to rewind the training, but in some cases your character's skills may be slightly incorrect, since I didn't have record to hand of the changes in training form that happened this week.

Please take a look at your characters and let me know here if you think any of them have incorrect skills. I will be able to check the database backup from yesterday to verify this, and modify your character if necessary.

Sorry for the inconvenience... you can keep any nicknames you inadvertently gained... (vikking) ;-)

edit: I'm away until Sunday, so won't get a chance to make any changes until then.

yep. :-)
I was about to post there might have been a bug in the training.
Thomas has won something aroun 222 driving skills and Marcellus is around 112 driving.
None of them had driving skills before, this is why I set training to them.

James Spaulding was the only char that I had in Training...jumped from 23 Driving to 140ish...can't remember now because his skill has disappeared completly :stare:

my guy terry simon's is a good learner 60 skill driveing point's :) it was 11 or 12 but still 60 is ok i dontthink it a bad bug just like that money bug i used and i did 300 k in the last 2 weak's ya i love it of course if i will find a deathbug will make my all dead driver come alive that will be something incredibale :)

agin my skill of terry driveing was 11-12 befor frieday

ummm..just curious..will my member get back his original Driving skill of 23? :o


EDIT:actually Jose lost his skill too...the only guy to keep his was in hospital at the time...part of the damage control?

OK.. having taken another look at the database this evening I could see the only thing was to rewind the character skills back to their state on Thursday. I also carried out 2 training updates, so that no-one should feel hard done by... ;-)

Apologies again... the damage it can do when you forget that a value is in a range of 0-100 not 0-1 !

I suppose the revert to previous stats also affected NPCs?

I had a unique (twice is not!) chance to hire a NPC with a rather good driving skill (66). He has now dropped back to something like 20...

Are NPC trained when not racing?

NPC characters who are part of gangs do train, but the guys who are hanging out in Dexter's waiting to be snapped up just spend all day drinking beer. Maurice Graham would have been at driving skill 19-ish when you got him on Thursday, and the bugged training update took him up to 66. I reverted all skills to how they were on Thursday, before doing 2 (non-bugged) training updates.

Comp:

I'm not entirely sure about an ETA, as there's a lot of stuff going into this next update. There's lots of minor bits and pieces, but the major things are:

1. Road combats - the artificial intelligence (AI) is the main part here that will need re-working
2. Squads (=multi-gang units that can travel the roads of Evan or go into 'scouting outside town' mode)
3. Loot-sharing phase at the end of a wilderness combat (this is quite a lot of work, what I'm planning to do is have a take-in-turn to take stuf approach, but it will also require shuffling cargo around between cars, and even removing healthy components from smashed cars)
4. Trade Vehicles and goods - some of the NPCs you meet on the road will be traders..

I would guess this will all take a few weeks...

maybe have the highest mechanic skill in the group influence what can be salvaged?
