Ok...another quick comment about ammo in Scav.

Ammo is common for some typres of weapon and rare for others. This I understand and agree with.

That means generally scav gangs will setup the day to day scouting vehicles that do the grunt work and collect less common ammo until they get enough to dust of the big guns.

You can go a whole week and not collect more ammo then you expend, even with high mech skills (savenger spec etc)

So what about the idea of using existing ammo types to make a different ammo type?

Say mines to make RL ammo, or a combination of ammo typres to make an alternative?
This could reduce the amount of stockpiled unsed ammo and possibly enhance the trade of less used ammo types?
Tie this in with an appropriate mech skill?

Far too sensible. Next you'll suggest a way for Scav gangs to get weapons like SS's and OJ's to go with all the ammo.

I think the answer is the one that i proposed in my original scav ideas but which somehow did not make the cut.

make weapons take 0 time to change in scav.... this would mean that people could adjust their guns to suit whatever ammo they have in stock.

Its hardly a game breaker to imagine that you have a bunch of weapons that fit one mount (hell who can change 4 tyres in 0 seconds) and it would enormously facilitate gameplay.
