It's like a war out there.........

HMGs were $6k in Somerset yesterday etc etc

Trader are getting squeezed ,  their getting squished on the ashphalt.

BOTTOM LINE - Prices are up !

New Record for Apache Prices.

Straight off the crater strewn forecourt for only $75,000 !

Stay frosty people  - keep your gun and wallet were I can see it .

Bah! Is there price gouging going on? I hate price gouging!

I should start gathering up vehicles and weapons and selling them for REASONABLE prices.

If people are buying lots of stuff recently, then it might be worth it. :)

The prices in somerset went up by 50-60% a while ago which means a brand new apache without weapons would cost ~57k+ so this isn't too much of a markup at the new prices (30%).

You gotta be kidding me! This is getting as ridiculous as real car prices.

If someones paying 57K for an armed and armored Apache, they're getting ripped off.

Unless the Apache is made out of solid gold.  ;)

This rise is also in response to the money being made by trader pirates profit rumours (80K to 100K a day before costs).
They have big bucks ( already proven to me ) and they are buying the biggest guns they can get. Combine this with the impact on traders and well...........you get the picture .

I've raised a cry for better mission prices in the past.

I have to run like 3 at a time on a Lorry to make it worth it. More people would care about the missions if there were more of those 80-120 bulk ones that pull in 12K-20K profit.

The passanger ones also underpay, but bulk isn't an issue since you can split them in cars.

I can do a scout and gain triple or more the money it would take me in the time it takes to run one mission. I can only imagine what trader-killers make. Especially if they score a lorry.

Missions are merely a usually minor side bonus right now, not a means of real income.

Trading itself is mildly lucrative, but only if you have a lorry. At least one.

Food from Somerset to Gateway can net some cozy profit, but the travel time is still something to consider. I can make a food run's worth of profit in one (sometimes two) good scouts, and the time it takes is far less.

You could argue danger, but running a fatty lorry from one city to another is hardly "safe."

The other alternative is to make hitting traders less lucrative.

Edit: Like seeing NPC hunters that jump people with bad rep. Ruthless, skilled hunters. Or at least a massive amount of them at once. They have to be elite, or they are just more profit for the trader killers.

It actually works both ways - players get more cash from selling those looted cars in somerset too now...

I think standard trader vans should be faster and they should split up when attacked - like convoys do.

Currently - people don't even need to take a dedicated van interceptor.

Reduce the armour abot 70 % of max - mostlyback and sides etc
and an exposed engine (coz it is facing away from any fire).
Splitting up vans is a nightmare as NPCs can barely keep the vans on the flat roads as it is , may not be practical.

But generally i think recompensing folk who kill any pirates is good- skill 1-10 gets you 33%  of bounty and 10-20 get you 66% of bounty.
As far as people selling off chars for cash, this doe not seem economical practical as new chars cost money and are crap or are liars.

Should Pirates be allowed to recruit in towns and if so should their rep attract the 'wrong' sort ?

Gonna suggest a new mission called " Trader Escort "

Dunno , kill em' all - let God sort 'em out

Okay, but I just priced Blasphemy (one of my Apaches) in Gateway at $36904 if I sell to the shop. You can see its information on my gang page.

You're telling me that if I bring that machina to Somerset, Jake will offer more?

Yeah although what I learned from doing my "Cheap Liberated Vehicles" business was that it usually wasn't worth it to transport cars just to sell because if you take armor damage or lose even one of the cars on the road you'll end up taking a loss (and there's fuel costs).

Hmm, thanks for the info Alo. Well, I don't want to sell Blasphemy anyway. But I might need to port it over sometime to double check.

Even if he does pay more, 57K for a nude Apache compared to the 37K Gateway offers me fully armed and armored... Even factor in "rarity costs in obtaining this vehicle."

Still seems high.

I might just check the prices with my lorry as I do trading with it. Of course, it'd have to take no damage on the way over to gauge price differences accurately. That doesn't happen often.  :)

Yeah you got me a bit wrong, the cost of buying a new apache from jakes would be 57k, selling one of your own would be less and the difference between selling it in gate or Somerset wouldn't be much more than a couple thousand.

Although I just checked with two identical 9.4L lorries in somerset/badlands and the difference is quite big indeed...

Somerset said:
Sell Price: $100785

Badlands said:
Sell Price: $58448*
The price has been reduced due to the overabundance of some components in the shop. The 'full' sale price would have been $60480

Right, the thing about Jake is like all NPC merchants in a player-driven economy game, he buys very low and sells very high (to encourage player merchantile.) Though this hasn't been fully realized until player production is in full swing, from multiple comments from Sam, this is obviously the intent.

In other words, if you're going to sell something, you should base it on his sale price and then go up from there.

If you're going to buy something, make sure they are reasonably well enough below Jake's "Screw You" prices. Otherwise, you're getting "the shaft." Jake's (and other NPC shop owners) most valuable asset is his customizability, which no player can offer easily at the moment.

Of course, desperation is a key factor in determining "worth." If you absolutely positively desire an Apache ASAP, you may be wililng to pay a ridiculous price for it. It's like overnight delivery. Paying for convience and speed. Of course, logically speaking, you're still getting totally boned.

In the case of lorrys, the price differences really jump.

Man! 100K vs 60K! :)

Jansan and Aloca

I pay attention to my customers - their needs and demands.

I know an Apache will pay for itself in less than seven days. My customers know that too - that is all that matters.

Right product - right place - right time .

2007-09-14 21:15:29 Sold a vehicle for $75000 to Inzpired

And I know why my Flash ain't selling well too.

"Now the pair of you ! Take your bellyache and remonstrating outside to the yard !"

Hey, this is the yard! :p

I meant no personal offense, Coco. If you can sell for 75,000, sell for 75,000. Free market. ;)

And I have no idea what was on that vehicle. But unless it was A armored and had dual heavy lasers, I don't think I'd personally pay that much.

Now there is a case in point . I strongly suspect that the vet market would pay a lot more for that vehicle. Probably close to twice the $75 K I asked and I again suspect that you would not buy that either (at that price).

I believe this is because you correlate some significants to 'in-game' prices for all items .

Am I close in my appraisal ?

COCO knows the value of nothing.......

Hm, what kind of significance?

If you mean personal preference, you are certainly correct. I dunno, Seiler likes Apaches way more than me. Maybe he would pay that much?

Apaches aren't rare enough that people would be 150K for one, though. I cannot believe that. Unless the Punisher is gone.

Maybe I'm just a cheapskate, but because its not real money, I think a lot of people in game economies tend to overprice.

Perhaps I shouldn't really say much more until I spend more time playing the vehicle market.
