Must just be the times you play tink. I've seen them in the evenings, sometimes a few hours apart. (evening server time that is).

perhaps the timings need tweaking to cater for all.

Could / should we give the ability to start them?

Love Amy Night - highly competitive, perfect addition to the game.

One problem: If AN is supposed to replace rentals (at least for Scavenger)- but you still can't scout with the vehicle you won because you have no ammo and fuel (You use all your ammo winning the match).
This would be fine if town events gave more ammo but they don't - most in SS are for food and the player-generated events only give 1-2 reloads - so it's not worth the grind.

Seriously though, yeah, these combats are EPIC. And it seems there's nearly always three or four players in the arena kicking the crap outta each other. Good times!

Re: ammo: I could imagine a situation where the promoters reload whatever functional guns might remain on the winning vehicle...

Yeah, it seems reasonable to refill the guns and gas tank of the winning car.

Tinker: regarding when these events spawn, it's totally random actually (it's simply a percentage of all non-league arena combats).

Should a deathrace version be created too? Are there any special factors we should consider? (e.g. maybe the deathrace version would be too easy to win cars in - maybe this would be time to work on a revised scoring system for some deathraces)

Combats are easier to win than deathraces, imo. Especially with other players who may want a vehicle. :)

Yes deathrace would work well.

Id love to see a deathrally version!

Perhaps weekly and with slightly nicer cars?

Problem with current deathrallies is that some always go without weapons and zoom off to win. In this version all cars will be roughly same speed (depending on eng damage of course!) so tempo would be similar. If this was done with the right car setups, it could prove to be very fun!

I could imagine a fast car, with exciting weapons.
4L low armor (heavy rear) Voyager, spike dropper, left flamer, front MG?

Logic: Dropped weapons make you want to be in-front, front mounted weapons make you want to be behind. Flamer for elbowing =)

Also agree, combats are a lot easier to win than deathraces are, especially if there's more than one person in the deathrace.

Deathraces are easy to come in 2nd or 3rd - you can hang back at the start for a few easy kills, but jumping out in front and trying to win can be incredibly dangerous.

Deathraces: Yep, I agree with those who say start 'em up. No real modifications needed, because they're not at all easy to win if you don't have an obviously superior machine. And since it's scav, nobody will.

Deathrallies: Not to throw a wrench in the machine, but the current setup of deathrallies has me leaning away from them as a "win a car" event. I've been in more than a few that only had two or three racers, and if I recall correctly I may have run one with just me. (Drive through gates, collect $20k, done!) So unless there's a way to mix in NPCs or some other suitable opposition in the rallies I'd have to stand on the opposed side.

But GO, DEATHRACES, GOOOOOO!!!!

Good point JTO, but its referring to the player base.

Currently I never see more than 3 scavs online at one time and most often its only one or two of us.

With a sufficent player base, a weekly deathrally could easily be supported.

The deathrace idea sounds good with new scoring system.

I remember a player had a great idea, goes something like this

You get a number of extra points, depending on what position you place, each laps or check points.

how about instead of points.....every time you pass a check point a bubble appears over the car saying something akin to the bellow depending what position your in... and your town rep

example

1st place

When I saw the zombies for the first time I thought Sam had implemented spectators! Which wouldn't be a bad idea in the Deathraces... have them hanging out at certain points along the track at the sides, ocassionally cheering for certain racers depending on your local popularity.

But no extra points for killing them.  :p

I don't post often but regarding new scav rules and Amateur night can I request the option to 'Request an Amateur night' deathrace or combat...?

Scavenger mode is superb and the new rules on loan cars is fair enough but I'm currently locked out of scav scouting as I dont have an engine..
