My bad then, I'll stand by my point thou as a sniper 2 will never miss at 80m either. (Not counting defensive drivers and vehicle shotguns  :rolleyes:)

And my point was, even a psi that is so highly specialized can fail their psi checks, and speaking from experience having no psi of that high level, it takes either over a year or super luck in training such a ganger.

In fact, I'm pretty sure Joel started training that guy before Psi's got fully implemented, or am I remembering wrong? (Bloody Cheater!)



Anyway, I'd like to clarify the pyro you saw in that event was a very powerful one, and a pyro level 1 at around 100 skill (That's still high relative to how few psi's there are) is not only more prone to failing, the most he can do normally is cause a light fire, the kind that has a bigger chance to die than to blow something up.

Think smouldering or burning lightly at most.

Just to put some practical application to this... FF, you're full of it with all the unreliable/ineffective takes forever to train and be useful stuff.

James Bang level 1 pyro 86 psionics skill

Event ID S375619 - gets out of car, sets two peds on fire 80% effort, get back in car attempts a third at 60% gets the headache and knocked unconcious. No apparent lasting affect to his activity or mileage.

Event ID S375623 - Same scout, return encounter. Same PSI character, miraculously conscious with full energy/activity. Sets all 3 enemy cars on fire from within the vehicle, no knockout, no problems. First two he was manning and firing a gun, third he was driving the vehicle. First vehicle was about to blow when event ended, both others till on fire.

4 of 5 successful attempts. 2nd through 6th times I'd ever even tried to use the skill.

Totally unreliable. Totally ineffective. Totally not in need of adjustment against NPCs, maybe just in PVP.

As for the mileage, I keep a record in each character's bios of all descriptive injuries, feel free to look, but it seems your right it doesn't seem very strong.

As for the second event, First of all you were pretty lucky and secondly you still validated one of my points with that, according to how I read that you still had to demo at least two of the vehicles with gunfire.

Add to this that pyro only works in the wild if the enemy squad is rather small, it doesn't go well together with heavy weapon scouting as you need to be within the effective 40- range.

And it torches the loot, so no, it is very ineffective as they fight to the death and only really works for fun.

I'm aware that being outside of the car is easier which is why I noted the fact. It doesn't change the fact that I had 4 of 5 successful attempts on a single outing with early attempts when I admittedly don't even know what I'm doing yet and will only get better at using it from there.

I don't know that I had to demo the cars with guns, but yet I was shooting at them instead of waiting around for the fires to burn them out. It doesn't change the fact that my PSI was able to set 3 of 3 on fire and cause them even more damage and stress while shooting them or driving the car all at the same time.

Ya and that really doesn't matter, only in PvP does it really matter.  I've found the ability only useful when attacking traders.  Escorts charge me, I light them up while shooting to be able to take them down a little faster and I can chase down the lorry.

In a regular npc scout, I really screwed up if I let npcs get within 50 range of me.  So what I am saying is Pyro is not a big deal on regular scouting.

Like I said - remove from all leagues and scavenger mode.
