Google says

The roadrunner (Dodge Charger Daytona) is 226.5 inches long or 5.75 meters
76.6 inches wide or 1.95 meters

if that helps

Buzzer:
from the manufacturer http://www.amgeneral.com/files/specs-sheet-m1151-domestic-04-10.pdf

Shipping Dimensions 800 cubic ft. (22.65 cubic m)
123 sq ft. (3.48 sq m)
194.0 in. (4.93 m) Length
91.0 in. (2.31 m) Width
78.3 in. (1.99 m) Height

dimensions are easy to get

shorter than the roadrunner?  who'd a thunk it!

they aren't all that big.  their armor is what's really scary.

Yeah with that we should be able to work out the ratios

Dodge Challenger

Length: 191.5 inches.
Width: 76.5 inches.
Height: 51 inches.

70 cuda

L: 186.7 in,
W: 74.9 in,
H: 50.9 in

69 camaro

186 in 4.724m

the sunrise and pho are about the same size. always thought the camaro smaller

what type of car is the squad car?

1994 ford crown vic - 83 Windsor - Windsor II

Length : 212.4 inch / 211 / 212

Bucc

Wheelbase     112.0 in (2,845 mm)
Length     203.2 in (5,161 mm)
Width     76.2 in (1,935 mm)
Height     52.8 in (1,341 mm)

same width as the superbird and the challenger

Yeah, sorting out all this data to make it easy is the idea I guess

It confirms a lot about perceptions of the sizes and will make it much easier to work out what to change. looking at the pic above, the bucc would be about right compared to the pho and sunrise, its the superbird that makes the bucc look so big in races, which should be about the same size. the Ford crowns might all be too small. Im still not sure what the standard scale car should be.

seeing the initial remarks, I was thinking not to get every car exactly right, just roughly right so it looks better, and is pretty easy.

Live google doc, anyone with this link can edit it... filled in real world equivilents from Wiki and then what dimensions I could from wikipedia.

LINK HERE

I would imagine if we get lengths and scale the exisitng models to the correct length the widths/heights would be close enough.

This could come in handy for some of the ones we're still missing, but haven't had the time to go over it in detail yet.

wow, look how small the Grand Cherokee is! A good half meter shorter than a bucc. a Good half meter shorter than my Cruiser. Munch, munch, nom, nom. My Cruiser is a model made before electric toothbrush holders, so will run well during regular EM storms.

Hrm yes maybe I checked  1970-1972 Plymouth Barracuda on Tinker's reference and all are listed as 186.6 or 186.7 inches in length.

updated info

The morays the one that looks right. The pike is a little odd. Looks more like a pregnant guppy than a barracuda. (sorry to whoever did this, it looks cool, just j/k. Making these things is friggin hard). To me, it looks like they are both 70s, (just going by the grill) unless its Revs ones, and then they're 71s B) Now he just needs to give them to someone that can drive. :p

Once I figure out this models stuff, Ill have to think about a 69 fastback. Did I ever mention that I have a tendancy to procrastinate.

I checked the pictured on Wikipedia and the front grills look a bit different. The Pike matched the '70 AAR and the Moray matched the pic of a 1972, but the dimensions were very close, just a bit different on height.

Also found another reference:

some aren't off as bad as you might think, the thing they have in common is having to fit going down a road, loading for transport, etc.

Standards, do we all agree on something as a standard?

So far I was thinking the Sunrise was a good standard, and the pho seems about right now too that I check the RL dimensions. The other standard, the squady and windsors (ford crowns), seem a little small. If we can get a start point we can get other chassis like the Semi worked out (thanks to JeeTees size analysis chassis by chassis), and then use that as a standard for the trucks.
