Dont know if this is the forum for it but here goes...

I have looked at the recent changes to camp attacks. I whole heartedly agree with the 3000cr rule.

I, also, appreciate the problems the vault have as I know goat personally and, however humerous, knowing he had to get up at ridiculous o'clock to stage a defence, matched with most of the potential defenders facing the same issue... it was hugely inconvenient and not right to expect people to do that, even more so on a regular basis.

However, the 8hr rule is compromising to how my camp works.

The camp membership of mine is a bit more geographically diverse and therefore timelines differ. To stage a defence i would need one of my more experienced memebers to step up with me. However, i would also like there to be room for newer players who want to experience it (I hasten to add - the camp defence i went on with asgard against the vault, however short :) , was a really fun thing to do even after loosing one of my favorite guys. 3000cr is great to play with a load of folk and things going on).

The level of ganger and equipment required to defend 3000cr requires a couple of vet members, if not to provide equipment, to provide gangers that can start hitting at 100m. This provides opportunity for the fight to start without an entire side being wiped out in very few turns.

Therefore, could there be a better way to resolve that issue to make it more fair? Could RC members talk to me about this issue in order to find some middle ground for all? No offence but i feel that maybe my position has been overlooked but maybe need to hear about conversations leading to this particular decision.

I have had an idea about camp pvp too. To add an element of risk to being an owner... 'Enforced camp pvp'!!! Rather than having the standard npc camp attack, have a random cr pvp attack from a random camp?

You dont have to be at war but you do have to at least fight because of the following reasons -

If you lose without playing

1. Your fame maximum is capped for a DW year, obviously taking sponsorships into account and pvp fame

If you lose whilst playing - No capping

1. Damage to buildings is less because everyone hates hauling stone out to camp

2. Losing isnt as much of a rep hit (because not fighting should lose you rep about town. Fighting, even if you lose, means people know that you will protect yours and their stuff!).

3. You dont lose vehicles, money, etc from the camp unless you dont fight.

If you win

Fame, production and mech bonuses are higher to a large degree (for time reasons, will cover in next para).


I think that the time issue regarding camp attack bonuses should involve 2 things-

1. It lasts for 3 DW months

2. It's diminish is much less than the current for camps (in pvp) and other pvp cant touch it.

To make this work...

1. It would require a random based match system that took fame into account

2. cr would require a random based system but not with any regard to fame.

The camp war stuff is an economic arguement that all camp owners should have a forum for... Almost like a chamber of commerce...

I have more thoughts but i am struggling to think cos of the drink lol

I dont like the idea of being forced to do PVP. I want to have a go at camp ownership in the not too distant future and I want to learn that without PVP. In the more distant future, when (if) I have figured out what I'm doing I might consider being open to PVP.

If this means making PVP closed camps not as good in terms of production then thats fine by me.

Yes, Bill, as GrowlingB comments, Sam does not want to force everyone to Pvp. Sam is very pro pvp and likes to see red text, but also realizes that this is not everyone's cup of tea. You also comment that camp damage stinks because everyone hates to haul out stone. I agree 100%. I have complained that the damage is too substantial, but nobody else seems to agree. Sorry :( . I think its detrimental to Pvp, but thats just me. If you have any concrete pvp ideas, we are always discussing it. Feel free to post more, or PM me if ya want.

bam.. the 8 hours bit was only added AFTER my late night...

and at the time I pointed out that we could have closed and that it was our problem if we had to get up late.
