just to throw in my 2 cents, take it for what its worth...

Paint Guns have been made a moot point, I for one won't use them ever again, for the same reason I never used a smoke gun.

Simply put, when you paint something (or near something) both vehicles, the painted and the painter will have a penalty to hit, how does this benifit the painter again?

I'd like to see the PS still be able to jam weapons on a direct hit. That was a fun weapon to use.

Game justification for those who need it: You aren't being hit with a small grenade from a distance, we are turning the fire hose on you. Big difference.

Maybe reduce the jam time by 1/3 for PS vs it's old value since the cloud has additional effects now.

This would make it a viable and fun weapon. IMHO, the PS was never overpowered.

blah blah blah... better results can be achieved with a smoke spray or HSS, since you can place them where you want them rather than a random shot.
And of course when its closer to the vehicle that fired it, its less likely to block shots from your other vehicles.

And granted I know that it can still effect targetting on a vehicle you aren't shooting at, which at times can help, but I still think the tide has swung too far in the wrong direction, but perhaps I just liked paint way too much the way it was! hehe

This is something I had not thought about and means I need to consider changing tactics, which isn't neccessarily a bad thing I guess.

I have been using Paint Guns for a few months now and would never scout without them. Were they overpowered? Yeah, IF you could hit with them and for a while I didn't. My painter would usually send something way off to the side and not even come close. Now that my ballistics skills are at the 100+ range, I have become more effective with them. If they are just causing my own guys to have trouble targeting, without the possibility of jamming the AI guns, it does make them a moot point for scouts, IMO. Might still be effective in a transport though.

Maybe it is time to switch out my paint guns for CGLs and see if I can do any damage with them.

CGLs can make the badies turn away, rather effective I think. almost as good as mines but these can be lobbed over my escort. any car bigger than an Escort you may want to try something else.

{see, this is what happens when I get outa the house}

Paint can still be that extra edge to save the day in a bad ambush.  I still never leave home without em.

I think we can have Paint guns in combat leagues now that they are toned down so much.

And I couldn't quite put my finger on it till now.

This change has made the game less fun.

That's not good, it's a mistake.

I really enjoyed paint, and now I don't.

Fun factor reduced.

Not good.

I Agree and its also in my mind unbalanced ballistics. Now you can have no way of countering grenades and other ballistic weapons. This move has me and a few others who I scout with fear game moving the wrong direction and may not sub back up.

No way of countering grenades? Really?? If you get in close enough those things are worthless. So go out and get a Muscle, and some BALLS and charge that pineapple lobbing bastard.

I wonder how many threats of ' not re subbing ' there has been.

Oddily they all come from members who joined only last year, hardly any from longer term players if any at all.

Things change, its certainly the nature of DW for things to change.

Hence why so many of us stick around, do you think there would be so many long term players, if this was the DW of four - five years ago?

Dude, as SOON as my 10 year subscription runs out, if paint is still like this...well...I'll probably keep playing under a new name.

I mean, by then we'll have helicopters, hovercraft, trikes, bikes, and jetpacks...so who flippin cares about the strategic cheat of paint? I'm in for the long haul!

But I reserve my right to re-evaluate...in a decade.
