*Ayjona* Edgerunners Darkwind Guru Renegade Group: Marshals + Contributors Posts: 515 Joined: Dec 6, 2006 Insidemacgames informed me about the Darkwind beta, which I promptly joined, played five turns of a race,  and then something happened which I can't quite recall (either the client crashed, or I did). This brief bout fo beta testing seem to have gained me an off-road buggy, which I plan to cling to like my own soul, and value above all other cars AND all my characters, just for the sake of being a beta reward car. Many months later, the Auto Assault section of No Mutants Allowed featured something about Darkwind. Can't quite recall, but I'm guessing it was a screenshot. I came here, and I've never left. So, I guess I can say it's mostly thanks to Auto Assault that I started playing Darkwind. I'm quite surprised that I'm one of the few AAers to have found my way here, but, hey, we don't want those lousy car FPS-car drivers here anyways! The vast majority of MMOs disappoint me terribly. Auto Assault was one of the least disappointing, and so I did play it for two or three months. But my love for the game does no deeper than that. And yes, spell-casting cars are a shifty bunch. Never trust them with your bank savings. But the environs, man, the environs... The scorched earth never looked as good as it did in Auto Assault.
