Did all the sport cars malfunction in the heat or something, leaving the Muscle, SuV, Sedan, Compact and Supercars left?

I look at it this way. When the solar apocalypse happened it created a bunch of electromagnetic discharges in our atmosphere (much like really happens during very active sun spot activity). Due to these enormous fluctuations many electronic devices were fried in the opening days of the event. Most of the newer cars of the time had electronic ignition not to mention were controlled by on-board computers which were also fried by the electro magnetic surges in our atmosphere. So the reason you don’t see so many newer vehicles is because no one has parts or the know how to rebuild the computers that are needed to run the “Newer” models. So that’s why you don’t see the newer flashy sports cars.

But then again I could be wrong.
Yeah... how can we still loot electronic parts then, better yet, I heard ospreys and buzzers take quite a load of EP's to make, BPU's to...

But hey, nice try there ;)

Many of the IC chips were burnt out but the resisters, capacitors and diodes along with the old fashioned transistors are still useable. It takes many boards to find enough working pieces to make 1 working board. So it’s not like you really have 50 IC boards stuffed in a chassis you have maybe 2 or 3.

There is a huge difference between circuit boards and resistors and full on CPUs and DRAM.  The latter would fry, where the former would simply be unreliable during an EMP.

So you are saying the kenzie, deville, cougar and so on are really low tech cars, I find that very hard to belive.

And why are you so against a different style of cars, don't like em, don't drive them, just like the Sunrise/Phoenix debate.

Also, a full blown EMP blast would fry just about any car, regardless if it is a high or low tech car.

Really? So let's rationalize lasers again...kidding.

IF I had a WRX shell in DW I'd gut the 2.0L Turbo and slap a 3L Rotary in it. What electronics? Heck, the one I drive daily in RLdoesn't even have a functioning clock and I do fine...

but it sounds like your only proposing a plethora of pretty new cars, not everybody likes the idea of pretty new cars in an apocalyptic setting .... live with it

But there are more people than me who likes that style of cars, and they don't fit DW?

Fitting DW seems to be more of a skin thing, and if you don't think sports cars could possibly fit, how in the world could the supercars do?

Firstly, you have to change the 'design' and allow 'tunable' cars before introducing tuners; or you'll just have pretty cars that nobody uses because all you can get in that WRX is a wimpy 2L.

"Classic" cars would/should be the hardest to find. They're already scarce...hence the term 'classic.' All us car guys know this. Pho's, Sunrises, etc., should be rare. All classic body styles should be rare...because finding one now worth fixing up, let alone putting into combat, is/would be a hard thing to do.

Take a look out the window and see what drives by in the greatest numbers. J-body GM vehicles are the most prolific models on the road today [[ Cavaliers and Sunfires ]].

That's irrelevant since the only survivors of the apocalypse were apparently ducking in a Japanese import garage when disaster struck...

Back on the subject of the more recent skins... I'm about 2/3 of the way done with a skin for the Winnie. Is it model-ready in the Showmodels viewer yet? Have to see it in the viewer before I can tell whether it's ready for prime-time.

Edit: I think I just spotted a major flaw with the Winnie's skin. Where's the roof?

LOL...

Going to need some new abbreviations.

In this context 'Winnie' = Winnebago.
