I just patched in these server-side changes:

* Ballistic weapons suffer a substantial accuracy loss if they are being fired from a vehicle moving above 15mph.
* The effect of smoke and paint clouds on firing accuracy has been increased
* I have added a new downforce component to the vehicle physics. This is defined per-chassis (depending on its wings and spoilers), and is proportional to speed. It should make the more sporty vehicles corner better and handle better on bumpy surfaces, with a slight loss of acceleration at high speeds.
* A little downforce: royal eaton, buccaneer, vampire, mcfly, Moray, symphony, stormer
* Medium downforce: cougar, bullet
* A lot of downforce: DeVille, mckenzie
* No downforce: all other vehicles

Also: there will now be twice as many professional events, starting from next week. They're now being scheduled around the clock rather than biased towards Western Europe and USA times.

Surely not.. I spent some time ironing out the NPC wilderness driving the other day, and it seemed ok..  :(

I've seen them break 60 on the road in a vamp, but once they make a dramatic turn or go off road, they seem to revert to 31 mph top speed., which affects the chase more than anything (it usually means my fire oil and spikes disappear before the bad guys get there...) as the melee speeds nevr get very high anyway. Maybe I should get another convoy out right now...

Yes, offroad they do limit their speeds. It's dangerous without real intelligence to arbitrarily floor the accelerator, there could be lumps and bumps etc. I guess I could have them check the terrain ahead and actually decide what speed is safe..

.. in fact, that's a good idea B)

I did that intentionally to the gang that starts behind in an encounter, in order to reduce the mayhem that happens right at the start.

but when "realisticly" is an encounter gonna start at 0 mph...i mean aren't we (or they) travelling along when they're jumped? 0 mph might solve a few npc ai probs but it creates a whole lot of player problems :rolleyes:

agreed. slows the combat down dramatically. maybe split the speed difference or open up the distance between opposing forces a bit.
