Did you check my diagnosis of the possible bug?

Quote:
It's just possible that you started to signal your escape right before a move was about to happen, and then the move had happened before you actually submitted that signal, and that during this move the enemy got a bit closer to you. Just to make sure this can't happen, I'll put in a little 'safety factor' so that the server lets you escape when a little closer than what the client thinks is possible.

It would be useful to know if this is what might have happened. Do you remember if a move happened while you had the escape confirmation box on the screen?

mmh difficult to say because I was concentrated on the ESCAPE message.... but what I can say is that I notice the difference between BEFORE (surrender say that I will actually surrend) and AFTER (surrender say that my car will escape). And I ESCAPE on the first escape message, so yes, is possible that I was just at 351 meters away and after clicking OK the NPC car have reached 349 meters....

I will suggest to add distances in the log in order to check in case it happend again...

tucano, I experienced the same thing a while ago in beta testing. I used the top left prompt to "escape" and lost the car but kept the driver and gunner.

I don't use the top prompt to escape anymore. I've found the surrender/escape opition in the top prompt a little misleading and now I only use my cursor hovered over the car to see if I can escape or not. Hover your mouse over your car and escape WILL show if you are far enough away from enemies. If you click escape from the 'car prompt' it will give you a message asking if you are sure you want to ESCAPE. If you are not far enough away, it will only show surrender.

This is the "fool-proof" way to make sure you don't surrender your car by accident.

Hope this helps you out next time!
