Returning hired cars

Vanye Dendarii Pedestrian Renegade Group: Members Posts: 21 Joined: Nov 21, 2009 When taking a rental car out on a scout, are they automatically returned (and the deposit refunded) when you get back to town? The reason I ask is that I just returned from a scout, and on getting back the hired car seems to have disappeared: it still shows in the browser Vehicles menu dropdown, but if I click on it I'm told it no longer exists.
