I'm confused about resignation in combat. I assumed that resigning from an event, whether voluntary by the player or imposed by the character/vehicle damage, meant that characters would be out of it.

But that doesn't seem to be the case: twice now I've had vehicles resigned automatically, and though they are then out of my control and sit there doing nothing, the other vehicles still fire on them occasionally and the characters are reported as taking damage.

The same thing happened the one time I resigned voluntarily. So if this is the case, what's the point of resigning? I thought it was a way to prevent further injury at the cost of forfeiting a chance of participation in victory, but unless I'm misreading things injury is still possible.

Resigning is basically saying "I give up", in combats and deathraces, that means the NPC's wont shoot you anymore, just make sure you unassigned those gunners. You are still in full control of car and pedestrians.

But remember, just because you give up, wont mean everyone will "honor" that, but those who don't are few indeed, and looked down upon.

Ah, thanks. So even NPCs will sometimes disregard resignations, that's good to know.

I hadn't unassigned gunners, so I guess that may have had an effect too?

Ah, I wasn't clear, from what I know, you are fine unless you keep shooting, but taking the targeting of never hurts.

This is why I don't do combats anymore. The risk factor versus payoffs is just too imbalanced as opposed to solo scouting.

I have to agree. While it's a good starting point to learn solo dogfighting tactics (when you learn NOT to rush in), if you nuff it, you still risk the redding.

I have lost many a ganger forgetting to stop firing but never had a problem when I did (Except when Shark was in the event)

When I first started combats were all I did because I could have 2 cars in the event and get more cash when I got 1st and 2nd place
