I left handling off because it's not something I directly enter into the database as a simple number. It's a mixture of factors, including the centre of gravity, the wheel positions and sizes relative to the main chassis, the suspension characteristics and the tyre characteristics. The end result is that I'm not really an expert in exactly how they handle. It's possibly something that would be better entered as a Community Comment.

So, it's something along the lines of what I assumed three posts above, then. I was hoping for that. Each and every chassis has its own handling, thanks to distributed physics, and more stuff that I hadn't guessed was included in the game's engine. That's great ;) It is far more interesting than simply having a number that defines "handling". And yes, yer right, that kinda thing we can always type in ourselves. Could we, perhaps, get a link to community comments on the different cars directly from the chassis page?

Also, what about the armour stuff I asked about above?

Good idea, I'll do that.
OK, try here now

Sorry, forgot to answer that part. Chassis toughnesses have not changed, but the descriptive text I have used to describe them has changed. I'm considering displaying the actual toughness number here, which ranges from 10 to 20, typically.

Wonderful. Thanks, Sam. Now, I don't think this chassis page leaves anything to the imagination.

Well, there is one thing...

*fiddles nervously with hands behind back and draws circles in the sand with foot*

Would it be possible to also list the maximum amount of armour/maximum amount of armour per side on the chassis page, or is that something that should only be seen from within the mechanic's shop?

Ah, so the new values are correct, in relation to each other, then. I like the new adjectives better.

Don't know about listing the actual number, though. Not knowing exactly has a certain intuitive appeal, while knowing exactly has another, more tactical appeal. Much like road handling of cars in Darkwind: it has to be felt, not read from a statistics page. I rather like that.

I think I' trying to say that I want as much info as possible on the cars, but that it doesn't have to be very specific ;)

For those who ask about "in-game" specifics, this covers some of the reasons why the secret sauce is best secret. Or a recent quote I heard... "If I gave you all the ingredients of whats in a hot dog, you may not like it". This is why playing experience is more valuable than any graph or chart.

So, are you comparing the game to discarded scraps no one wants, mixed with sugar and spice?
