Darkwind
Media v.94, Texan and Shantyville!

This patch adds two new towns: Texan and Shantyville. I'm just concluding the server-side changes before opening the roads from Badlands and Sarsfield.

There's 6 new maps as part of this patch: the gates of Texan and Shantyville, plus two wilderness maps from Dr Mathias ("The Pits" and "Lonesome Highway") and two that I was holding in reserve from viKKing ("The Maze" and "Acid Land").

I've got 9:25 into Texan. Can't complain with that. . . accept that I'll be sleeping.

More importantly, though, the "Register" button for events on the client seems to be gone for me. The "Webpage" button is still there, though.

Running Mac OSX 10.4.11

I just put through a fix on the Register button PT. Don't really want to force everyone a re-patch though, only a few are affected.

The file is here:

eventsDetailsDlg.gui.dso.zip

You need to unzip this into /darkwind/client/ui

The next patch will automatically include this.

edit: I also fixed the problem whereby cars hitting the oil puddles were sliding across the top at high speed. Someone (whos doctorate I'm starting to doubt) had set oil to have twenty times the density of water.

But then again I got to use the supersecret, special handshake BL to Texan route. It's so secret, I'll probably never be able to use it again B)

Hehe yeah, viscosity and density are parameters of the WaterBlock object. Maybe its the defaults that are whacky?

Is that patch just to add the register button or should it fix the web page button also?

Is there a problem with that button too?

There is for me. Clicking on either of the two webpage buttons does not launch a new IE, or Firefox for that matter, session or open a new tab.

Rahn - did it work before?

At work - we occasionally have people report some website or another suddenly doesn't do right and a system update has turned ON the default "block pop-up windows."

It did until yesterday.  I have checked the filters for IE and Firefox and DW is not being blocked by either one of them.

When I click the webpage button, the client border flashes quickly then nothing else happens.

Maybe so, but just maybe you should be the first person to roll into Shantyville with a lorry load of weapons and ammo  :D

Thanks Sam for publishing them.
It was very frustrating to wait so long to have them live.

I hope the minor tweaks you made on The Maze make everyone happy.

Yep, sorry about that! You know what I'm like about bloating the size of the core download... I hate to make it grow so much when most players never even see most of the maps.

The new dynamic patching of terrains means we can now add as many maps as we like without affecting the core download.  B)
