Darkwind
simplified characters, (suggestion)

since there does not seem to be a way to add specs i don't see much reason for them to be so complicated. for instance, maybe skills should just be in increments of 10? with no specs characters could be made with all skills at 5 and one at 20, much like hiring a new character. skills could be changed to 5, 20, 40, 60m or 80. that seems to be all the skill levels we would need.

option 2: if there is a way to assign specs to characters, how about a way to save them for later? that way you can adjust "Sniper" Bob to your heart's content and then people can load him or anyone else into their templates with little fuss. perhaps have a one-line descriptor with a character so people can list pertinant notes.

I vote against simplified overall increments, but maybe Quick Buttons to set stats in addition to normal manual settings? Best of both worlds.

I would also like to see specializations and equipment customizing as well for characters.

something. i don't want to hit the up button 80 times to give someone a high skill and hit it 100+ to lower other skills...

Maybe 10 point jumpers in addition to the single point ones. That way you can quickly jump through to the tier then fine tune with the singles.

I was going to make some preset characters, yeah.. e.g. your standard 'journeyman gunner' has 40 gunnery skill, etc.

That's a great idea!

i'm not crazy about hiting the plus or minus sign times to make the characters equal either, and yea a set config like Sam said might solve that

but it would be nice if things were simplified a lot more, i find it trying to set things up the way it is now

i do like the idea of having templates and being able to adjust so best of both worlds, as was suggested...

Any thought about importing characters like you currently do with vehicles? It may be a way to satiate some PvP appetites.

that just sounds like an invitation for more inter-player strife...

how so 4?
I'm looking at in the context of simplified character creation as an option to populate the character stats instead of just hitting arrow keys or entering character data manually.
