It’s taken me a few months to get this completed, but I’ve finally finished my scenes of Evan project I was working on. I’ve managed to take hundreds of screenshots within all 30 wilderness maps and selected the ones I hope the community likes the best. You will see at least 2 screenshots from each wilderness map and are free to use them as you wish. This gives those players who have not ventured out of SS a chance to see what’s to come once they make the jump to the other towns and give the vets some views from their favorite maps that they may not normally see in a heavy firefight.
Enjoy
Sam, if you like this can you throw a sticky on this.

It's actually reassuring to know that you're human, once in a while.
Occasionally.
Rarely.
Well, this once, at least

Better would be a Gallery section, perhaps available through the Background or Game Info menus so visitors find them easily.
edit: shows how good my memory is...there's a Screenshots page already, although it isn't set up like a gallery where a visitor can click on a single screenshot and then browse back and forth through them.

Wow.
I always enjoyed your selections of scenery, but those 'town alive' shots are very impressive. The effect is incredible... the towns really seem like populated, living communities.

The pic is a larger version of my original pic from the first page that is already being used in the client slide show. I believe Tinker is saying he would like a bigger version of this used for the client splash page when loading the game . Tinkers version is 1900x1200 while mine is 800x600.
Many of the pics I posted on the first page that are quite stunning have not been used for anything and are not in the slide show. I still have 100's of pics I've never posted due to space limitations.

Thanks, but i can't in any way take credit for the highlighting. I merely added the flamey bits to the existing black skin in the vehicles folder.
I know the pics don't really fit into this thread, but i was asked to upload them for submission for 'scenes of evan' and rightly or wrongly assumed this would be the place. Unless i'm missing it, there doesn't seem to be a gallery for peoples cars. I see the paint jobs thread, but that seems to be more of a request and works in progress thing as opposed to a showcase thread such as this one.
Edit-I've moved the pics to paint job as asked, sorry for the confusion.

What, you don't like my wolf shots? I found the northern farmlands shot I took with the wolf jumping over the women ped(looking up in shock, most likely thinking "Oh %^&$") and the other peds with their backs to the wolf quite amusing.

It's purely based on the resolution of the DW client on your screen, Bastille - the maximum free space is calculated and it's sized to that. Not something you can change directly, other than changing resolutions.

For those that want to load any of the current pics on Bast's new maps/tracks, you'll need to manually change the name of each pic in the ui2 folder. Sam's naming for these are all messed up and won't load as splash screens until they are renamed correctly by Sam or you rename them yourself.
example for gates of Morgan
In the ui2 folder
rename - ByLordFoul_207.jpg to picGatesofMorgan.jpg
You'll see a bunch in that folder named like ByXxxXxxx.jpg and can be renamed to the proper format to load correctly as splash screens.
Make sure you do this while not running the client, because it will crash if you try and load an event. Rename the ones you want and then load the client.

Your maps work better too. Better fighting spots, they all seem to be really well thought out tactically. I have a few places I have thought out, Ice Water I think is probably my best tactically and the Yacht club
And besides, I just copied your ideas anyway and had use of the new stuff from Mr Todd Pickens (hence the easy Pickens statement)

{its all done so the clouds blend with the fog and make it look likes its moving... thought it made for good eerie factor}
Nice pics.

The bridges of the Scattered Hills. They're destruction meant a long detour, adding a day to the long haul into Badlands, costing the Truckstop. Many years have passed and the bridges lie in ruin.

Are the Scattered Hills back?
And can that bridge be jumped?

No idea if they will ever be back on the main road....
...and scout reports say nothing of jumping the gap... they were not that crazy

I think there needs to be a map that has a God-awful bridge jump that only a crazy idiot would try to jump. It should be possible to jump it - but very hard. We have just about everything but a well-known and hard to complete jump. And I know there are a few people that would try it.......
So what do you say?

I say get your scouts out there in a really fast car... try a soft setup.
Thats what I say
even Neverplains has a cool jump.. on the main path.... good run up too. probably pull that one off at about 80-100mph
you're gunna need to be hitting the limit to have any chance at making the one at Bantonville Gorge.

Our scouts tried to get a good look at the bridges, but the area was thick with pirates. Fortunately the lack of trade through the region as of late, meant they were not looking for our dust plume, so we were lucky to get away unseen. It could well be many pirate gangs have been using this as safe haven seeing none of the enforcers are patrolling the road.

Do those streams form sort of a triangle thing? Could be Dry Delta, but... it's a little far from any coastline.
Or Salty Foothills, and put it between Morgan-GW or BL-Morgan.

Guys, can we keep this thread just for map pics.
You can create another thread for misc pics as has been done in the past.
Thanks

but, I don't have any new maps... sam has been busy with more 'important' stuff. *Pheh*, yeah right
whats more important than maps
I could probably use this chance to go over and check for danger spots and stuff... checking out some other games lately and getting some cool ideas for terrain.
A break is as good as holiday, or is it kick in the head, not sure, one of those.

It appears asking politely multiple times not to post random screen shots in this thread is not good enough, especially one showing a mouse cursor chasing a car over a cliff.
For the time being it appears I need to lock this thread until new map screens need to be added.

LF, can we open this up again for scenes of evan ONLY?
I know I was pasting pics of some new stuff in here and looking for ideas. I deleted my thread at one point and didn't want to start another one, thinking it was somewhat relevant. I'll keep any of that stuff out of here in future.
Lord Foul has put much effort into getting all this together and taking some great shots, especially the towns.
This should be for scenery shots only.
Action shots (arguable if its a real nice scenery shot, showing much of some of the great landscape in the game), questions, boastings, bragging proof, should be placed elsewhere, please.
If it does not continue in the intended vein, I shall lock the thread again.
EDIT: I wanted to add, to please take care to not include mouse cursor, head up displays etc. These pics should be cropped and edited accordingly (Ive just notice, I have a bloody mouse cursor on my pic, crud)

I was going to open it up this week as I have a bunch of your new map pics to post, including the southern desert you just posted. Unfortunately ME3 has been distracting me a lot this week.
The main problem with other players pics posted here is that I can't screen them or remove them and should not have been posted here. This thread was created to showcase the world of evan/DW is a pure and artistic way. While I enjoy scenes of action shots just as much as the next player, I don't post them here and was hoping others would understand what this thread was created for and not post them here as well.
Maybe you could create a different thread for just "Action shots" or simply a "Player Pictures" thread for the community to post to.

yeah, I started a new thread for that stuff. Flying High, death and destruction.
The above pic is the very most action you would want in these pics, and its by no means the highlight. Just something happening in the background. Or at least, that was my thought in posting the pic.

Sam, if you read back a page or so I mentioned your naming convention changed and no longer works in the client most of the time. I pretty much gave up submitting them because for some reason many of the pics are named wrong and are not recognized by the client even after you approve them.
I have to go and rename them to the proper format in my own folders to get them to show up in the client, which I mentioned in this thread some months back suggesting other players to do this as well.
picCanyonJoustByBastille_131.jpg <--Old Good format
ByBastille_244.jpg <---New bad format (client does not see it when loading maps)
I'm pretty sure Bast said he as going to try and get in touch with you to correct the problem.
I would have tried to PM you, but getting you to reply to me has been like pulling teeth this year.

You must have had it turned off, there's been about 4 new pics over the last 6 months added to the folder and the most recent one was last December. As you know it has not worked properly in a long time, if you look the last ones put in by me have the wrong format. About 1/2 the submitted photos from April of last year have the wrong format.
